The restaurant had three people working there on a Saturday night. The server took our order and one of our appetizers came out with our entrees and the other didn't. We ordered sake and that didn't show up either when our food arrived. Our waitress was not around to ask for anything. By the time we finished eating in about 40 mins, we still hadn't gotten the sake or the wings we ordered. We asked for the check only and after we asked the check did the waitress bring an open bottle of sake with two cups. I just told her to pack it up since she made clear she opened it already and the chicken wings showed up conveniently as well and had her pack that up too. Had to wait about 15 more mins for the onigiris. When we signed for the check, the waitress gave me a mechanical pencil and then proceeded to use the back of it to take down the order of another table. Overall very disappointed experience. Will return until the staffing resolved.

Do NOT eat the sushi. My husband and I could not keep anything down for 2 days and couldn’t eat for thanksgiving later in the week. It’s not worth it. Worst part the owner is avoiding refunding me. If I can’t keep my food down, I’m getting my money back. I have called him 4 times after he “approved” the refund. This establishment is open 7 days a week, there is not extra time to clean. Servers let us sit on dirty bar area, while looking into the sushi refrigerator case full of plastic bags. There is no extra care here when sushi should be taken care of properly. You’ve been warned.
The food is mostly ok (not guaranteed). The place desperately needs a deep, deep cleaning. Service is completely hit or miss.

Was a first time customer and picked up a gyu don the other day. Flavor was decent, but there was a tiny amount of beef and onions, less than half the minimum amount I expected for the price. Staff was friendly

This dated sushi spot is getting rough around the edges… it is not well kept, and the sushi was below average. Our server was friendly, but not helpful, not fast, and easily confused by basic questions. Our Roll was OK, but the Nigiri was not edible because it was not sushi grade tuna or salmon. Bummer. I was generally disappointed. On the positive side, it has a nice little outdoor patio, which is rare for sushi spot. I would also say the prices were reasonable and parking was easy, but for the food, I probably would not return.
Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly food.

The rice was overpowering and made everything taste like vinegar rice. They don't have hot tea apparently. The table was sticky when we sat down. The sake cups were sticky when we got them. The staff was friendly, but slow, inattentive, and didn't communicate. I was here a long time ago and it was mediocre then, but it's gotten worse.

Love this place and their food. Feels like an authentic experience, the food is delicious and service is fast. Went in for a super fast lunch break, was able to be in and out while dining inside. I even had time to spare once returning to work. Spam Musubi makes for a simple, fast and tasty lunch 💜

Place is downright dirty. Entry doors, unbussed food and plates from previous patrons, open kitchen is a mess...really disgusting...you can tell when an owner doesn't care. Gross.

Slow service and mediocre food in a dingy restaurant. They no longer serve yakitori, either. We had the curry, yellowtail collar, tempura, and sushi. While the curry was good, the chicken katsu with it was tough and the biggest chunk of meat in the yellowtail collar was undercooked. The tempura was fine. I didn't try the sushi. The service was not prompt and the server didn't communicate very well but didn't make any mistakes. The decor is looks dated and worn, lighting is dark, and it feels like a hole-in-the-wall without the quality to make up for it.

Absolutely, the worst sushi/ramen in the stl area. We were seated with menus and 15 minutes went by without staff even acknowledging us. So we left.
Their website and on Google search it says they close at 10 PM. We arrive there at 8:45 PM and they told us that they are closed for the night. Bad customer service.
I've been here about 5 times over the years, and it's always just okay. One time we tried to go and even though it was the middle of the day and online it said they were open, they were closed with no sign on the door or anything. There's few tables, but the servers don't come around much, and they don't seem particularly happy to help. The food is fine, but I've had much better at other Japanese restaurants around STL.
