Robata Maplewood Dine-in/take out

Cute little restaurant, but be prepared to sweat-it was 82 degrees INSIDE. Service was polite but incredibly slow, they gave each of us 1 glass of water and never refilled them. We waited an hour for 8 tiny, and I mean baby sized rolls and they were not delicious by any means. The table next to us got up and asked how much longer on their food(a bowl of ramen and a lunch roll special) and she said “soon”. They had waited almost as long as us, but because they complained theirs came out first. 4 lunch deals and an order of dumplings was $64. We won’t be back. Very disappointing experience.

Went there for lunch today with my wife and kids and it took almost an hour to get our food. We each got a lunch special of two rolls each. The restaurant only had 4 tables occupied. The food was average at best and the restaurant was 82 degrees inside.

So good! Definitely gonna be one of my go to spots when I’m here in St. Louis. Get the fried chicken katsu

OK to try if you're in the area but not worth the trip especially when I have to pass places that do noodles soup and sushi better. Maybe I just like pho better than ramen because we ate at Menya Ramen and that was lousy to us and they was on the TV for being one of the best in the nation. Not going to mention my favorite sushi place but Sushi Ai is better than Robata in every aspect.

What a neighborhood gem! Drive thru ramen to go for rainy days 🔥 the sweetest bartenders a girl could ask for and patio sushi for days. This place really has it all!

Great food nice staff

I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen. This is unfortunately the worst ramen I have ever had! The broth was thin and tasteless, and the toppings had no flavor. You're better off getting microwave ramen from the store. The service was also extremely slow and the server was inattentive. This is my second time giving Robata a chance, and I'm sorry to say I won't be back.

Very authentic and delicious Japanese food with a nice selection of Japanese whiskies and their Ramen is our favorite in St. Louis.

The restaurant had three people working there on a Saturday night. The server took our order and one of our appetizers came out with our entrees and the other didn't. We ordered sake and that didn't show up either when our food arrived. Our waitress was not around to ask for anything. By the time we finished eating in about 40 mins, we still hadn't gotten the sake or the wings we ordered. We asked for the check only and after we asked the check did the waitress bring an open bottle of sake with two cups. I just told her to pack it up since she made clear she opened it already and the chicken wings showed up conveniently as well and had her pack that up too. Had to wait about 15 more mins for the onigiris. When we signed for the check, the waitress gave me a mechanical pencil and then proceeded to use the back of it to take down the order of another table. Overall very disappointed experience. Will return until the staffing resolved.

Do NOT eat the sushi. My husband and I could not keep anything down for 2 days and couldn’t eat for thanksgiving later in the week. It’s not worth it. Worst part the owner is avoiding refunding me. If I can’t keep my food down, I’m getting my money back. I have called him 4 times after he “approved” the refund. This establishment is open 7 days a week, there is not extra time to clean. Servers let us sit on dirty bar area, while looking into the sushi refrigerator case full of plastic bags. There is no extra care here when sushi should be taken care of properly. You’ve been warned.

The food is mostly ok (not guaranteed). The place desperately needs a deep, deep cleaning. Service is completely hit or miss.

Was a first time customer and picked up a gyu don the other day. Flavor was decent, but there was a tiny amount of beef and onions, less than half the minimum amount I expected for the price. Staff was friendly

This dated sushi spot is getting rough around the edges… it is not well kept, and the sushi was below average. Our server was friendly, but not helpful, not fast, and easily confused by basic questions. Our Roll was OK, but the Nigiri was not edible because it was not sushi grade tuna or salmon. Bummer. I was generally disappointed. On the positive side, it has a nice little outdoor patio, which is rare for sushi spot. I would also say the prices were reasonable and parking was easy, but for the food, I probably would not return.
