Traveling in northern Missouri in January is bitter cold especially traveling with a construction crew working with concrete & asphalt. Staying in hotels and trying to find good places to eat is a challenge; but this time around staying at the Super 8 Hotel was short walk across the parking lot. I’ve always loved eating at cafe’s & diner’s they’re always a great spot to eat and Funny Pages Cafe is no different. The food was great, service was great, and the restaurant has a classic cartoon theme. The food is great because it’s home style cooking (my favorite) and you’re given big portions so you’ll be nice and full at the end. The service was great because the all the servers swing by my table to check up on me and made sure everything was good and to make sure my coffee cup was always full. The cafe has a classic cartoon theme that makes it different from other places. While was eating I seen (Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo, Flintstones, Garfield, White Spy vs Black Spy, and Pink Panther) and many more. All in all this cafe is a great spot to eat and it won’t leave a hole in wallet; if you’re traveling in the area you should swing by for a hot meal.

The service itself was fine, and our server was understanding and polite throughout, so this isn’t a reflection on them. However, I ordered the steak and eggs and was completely grossed out by the quality of the meat. I asked for my steak medium rare, but what I received was raw and brown in the middle clearly not fresh and definitely not safe to eat. It looked and smelled like the meat had not been stored properly and had gone bad.
I sent it back immediately and told them I didn’t want a replacement because I was genuinely grossed out. I kept the sides since they were on separate plates, but the fact that they only took $5 off the bill after serving a clearly rotten steak is laughable. That level of disregard is unacceptable.
I asked for sausage as a steak replacement and they came out looking gross too.

Went here for breakfast, the place was really warm inside and some of the waitresses were sweating. We asked if the air was broke and our waitress said they just turned it on. There is definitely some animosity between the waitresses as a few of them were talking about another one loud enough for the customers to hear. The food was good and our waitress was very attentive and friendly.
