Excellent bourbon from Missouri corn and wheat! Keep it in Missouri.

I have been enjoying their products for years. I stopped by on a Wednesday and got lucky they happened to be there on their day off. They could’ve just said they were closed, but they invited us inside and let us try several of their offerings. We happily paid the $5 tasting fee. I’m glad we lucked out because the Queen’s Reserve was delicious and I was able to buy a bottle. Great people, great craft whiskey!

This place is amazing! Hands down, don't think about it, don't doubt, make a visit, get a flight, and buy a bottle or two....trust me.I stopped into this place on a whim on a long drive to the airport (leaving my whiskey in my truck while I traveled).I hit up a conversation with the employee and started learning about what makes this place special while having a sampler of whiskeys to taste. I thought I liked whiskey, before I found this place, and now I love it.The corn is all unique and works into the recipes and flavors, all homegrown on the distillery's own land, and human food grade instead of the feed grade that everyone else uses. More than that, some of it is ancient corn that the owner has essentially brought back into circulation and gathered from heirloom strains around the world. This is clearly a passion project and everything about this place is head and shoulders above the competition. The diversity of tastes, qualities, and smells is amazing. This is absolutely the first time I've ever truly had a "Favorite" distillery and if anyone ever asks me, Wood Hat Spirits is where anyone should get whiskey if they want it to be quality.

Wood Hat Spirits is located right off of I-70 and is easy to spot from the road. They offer a lot of different whiskey/bourbon options that are made from local ingredients. If you like cask strength alcohols, they have those too. You can get a tasting of $5 for $5, which is a great deal. Over the years, I love stopping here either driving to, our driving from STL. I highlyrecommendthis place.

Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. I am both very pleased and a little in awe of how accurate the description of each liquor was to how it actually tastes - you should be aware, if it says peppery, that is what you are going to get, same for sweet or creamy. I tried 2 bourbons, 1 whiskey, and 2 cordials, and left with a bottle of Queen's Reserve. Highly recommended if bourbon or whiskey is your drink.

We loved our experience yesterday at Wood Hat Spirits. Of all the distilleries we toured later, Wood Hat products and experience set the bar. All of their spirits are exceptional, the staff is very knowledgeable. If you haven't tried the honey, it is a must!! This coming from a Master Distiller and Honey Beekeeper!

Very friendly staff and one of the best bourbons available in this part of Missouri

After years of passing this place on the way to or from Columbia, I finally corrected that mistake yesterday. This is a small distillery right off I-70 with many whiskeys, bourbons, and cordials to try. A flight of 5 is only $5. My wife and I each did one and still missed out on some. What really stood out was their dedication to their locally grown corn and the way they work with other varieties like red and blue corn. The staff is quite knowledgeable which adds to the experience. I can't wait to return and see what they're cooking up next.

Great "small" distillery. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. This place has been on my distillery bucket list and was worth the wait and visit. While both the bourbons and whiskey are great, but make sure you also take the cordials.

I stopped by Wood Hat Spirits on my way back home to St. Peters. I had already enjoyed Blue Corn Whiskey and Bourbon Rubenesque but had always wanted to stop in and taste some other varieties. Shannon and owner Gary were friendly, kind, and informative (natural teachers, in fact). Wood Hat is a one-of-a-kind business that I’m proud to live down the road along I-70! Congratulations and thank you! Brian

This place offers complimentary camping via Harvest Host. Gary met me upon my arrival even though they were closed. He got me parked in a quiet, secluded place behind the cornfields foe the night. The next morning we went in for a tasting of their spirits. We had so much fun in the tasting room and even walked away with two bottles of their cordials which were delicious! It’s a fun quick stopover that it would highly recommend.

Delightful tasting experience. Was only $5 per tasting. Loved the bourbon offerings and the cordials. Staff was super friendly and helpful in explaining all the offerings on the tasting.

We had driven by this distillery for years, never with time to stop. Right off the interstate, we finally had an extra day to stop and smell the roses (or drink the bourbon in this case). So glad we did!Wood Hat is a smaller distillery and so we called the day before to verify the time they would open, and they said "what time do you want to come? We'll open then"! When we arrived we were offered a tasting, 5 for $5. Between the two of us we shared so we could each try 10 of their products - almost all of them. We really appreciated the unique taste of different corns they use - not something you get at most distilleries. During our tasting, both the owner and distiller were present and happy to answer all of our questions. We walked away with a few bottles and will definitely make the stop next time we drive by!

Cool quirky little distillery. Worth trying their selection. Shannon did our tasting; super friendly and a wealth of local information.

Wood Hat Spirits is an incredible distillery and Gary is a master of his craft. Very few distillers in the country are doing what Gary does and Missouri is lucky to have bourbon of this caliber in our state. No outsourcing, no conglomerate ownership, just grain to glass top quality whiskey.
