Drove in 3.5 hours to visit with family and celebrate the lives of my childrenβs dear, departed great aunts- whose grandparents started the original Odessa Ice Cream factory. Our itinerary included a pre-authorized (by the creameries owner or maybe manager) visit to the creamery. We were told to come at 5pm.
When we showed up the lights were off and doors locked with a sign on the door that said they closed at 4pm. What a gut-punch! We hung around until about 5:15 to see if anyone was coming back so that we could celebrate and remember our loved oneβs life and legacy together with a scoop of delicious ice cream. No one turned up to open. How incredibly unprofessional. Our memorial was cut short and we said our goodbyes to one another in the street.

This place has really gone down hill over the years. Walked in this evening and both employees just sitting down in the back around the counter. They were friendly when they came to serve us, but never really talked to us except to give us our total and say thanks. The glass on the inside of the coolers was dirty. Trim starting to come off the ceiling, a lot of lights out, trash and empty boxes lying around, and the bathroom was disgusting. The staff sat back down and put in headphones after serving us. It is unfortunate that it has gotten to this, but really explains to me whuly it was so slow on a warm Friday night.

We walked in as they were closing but they still served us some delicious ice cream with a smile. My camera focused on them instead of the ice cream cone lol but maybe that was meant to be a shout out to the good service. π¦π§π¨π

Weβve tried to go on several occasions during listed βopen hoursβ per online and per their recorded message when calling. Everytime we go and they are in fact closed. Really irritating.
We drove half an hour and showed up 20 minutes before closing, but the doors were locked, and the two girls inside were cleaning up. They looked at us like we were crazy, but online, the sign in the door and the phone recording says they stay open until 8 pm. It makes it a little hard to justify an expensive, albeit good, ice cream cone when they don't even keep regular hours.

We were visiting Odessa and just had to stop for ice cream. The flavors were phenomenal and the portions were ginormous! We all ordered a single scoop and boy to they pile it on. We were blown away by how much ice cream they gave us! I ordered the no-sugar-added Amaretto Almond and it was divine. Highly recommend!

Such a great updated old fashioned ice cream parlor. Loved the decor and feel. Very cute! Great service from the girls behind the counter. We had Carmel ice cream and eyes wide open which was coffee. So good and the portions were huge. My family loved it!

The atmosphere is amazing. The ice cream is REALLY good with large portions. And there was a dairy-free and sugar-free option.
