Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

I don't know WHO decided to make HASH BROWN CASSEROLE LOADED TATER TOTS.
I think they were on some hash when they thought this dish up but I tell you, bae-by, they are DELICIOUS! I mean they are just crisp enough to not fall apart. Then they have the NERVE to add cheese and bacon on top. If the cheese had been melted a bit the bacon could have stayed on top of each tot. However, it was still amazing!

Well first off let me start by saying I’m a server so I have a lot of patience and am very understanding. We just left there and I would have asked for a manager but I had my 8 month old son that I might add did very well being patient too waiting for food while we waited an hour for food from the time we ordered. There wasn’t very many people in the restaurant, as in wasn’t full and looked as if it was busy. Which would be more of an understanding as well. But oh well. Then the server checked on us and asked if we wanted biscuits while we waited and sorry for the wait. I said no thanks we are good and did she know maybe about how much longer due to if it was going to be a while, we’d just cancel the order because of our son and no worries. She said she didn’t know and brought the biscuits anyways. Ok, that’s fine. Well then food took another 15-20min afterwards and she brought food out. She forgot the biscuits and gravy and the syrup for the pancakes. Ok no big deal. Waited for her to come back, asked just to double check if the meal was supposed to come with biscuits and gravy because maybe I ordered the wrong thing and she said yeah, I brought you biscuits before, do you want me to bring gravy. I kind of looked at her … and was like the meal itself is supposed to come with biscuits and gravy and she said she could bring gravy for the biscuits she brought before while we waited an hour after we said we didn’t need them, but now they been sitting for over 20-30 min and she just kept looking at me so I said uhm ok… just forget it and we need syrup. She brought that and we ate and left. We have been so many times and I am truly an understanding person but the wait wasn’t even the main issue, it was the food and then because of the wait we got charged the whole bill when the food wasn’t even right and I did say something but then it wasn’t even corrected. Which is crazy to me. It wasn’t a great experience at all and I didn’t get to talk to manager so thought I’d leave a review for maybe management to see.

Austin was the best server ! We visit the Ofallon location often, the service is always good, his service was exceptional, polite, respectful, happy and helpful

Our waiter was EXCELLENT!

Good food. They were having a challenge with enough servers. The one we got wasn't very attentive but she had slew of tables to wait. All in all, I'll go back even if it is just to meander around the shopping area.

At the Cash stand when checking out- I had a coupon offer that Cracker Barrel emailed me-- when I attempted to use it- they had a hard time scanning the bar code, needless to say 10+ minutes later and refusing to ask a manager for help- I finally got the email to scan for them-- so fustrating!

I visited here a on a Monday night around 630pm.
There was really no wait as soon as they hostess walked up to the table she grabbed a menu and we walked to a nice table.
I have been comming to this location for many years now and service is always good and this time was no different.
Jeff the server was great and prompt with all the food and a refill of my soda.
Id say I go with breakfast 95% of the time when I go to any cracker barrel.

They now serve chocolate chip pancakes on their menu, even tho you could add chocolate chips before when it wasn't on the menu.

The mommas pancake breakfast is a great meal with everything you need for the feel of breakfast.
I got double sausage but it usually comes with bacon or 2 sausages.
The prices are fair for most of the food in see for what you get.
I think sodas a bit expensive at 3.49$ each.

The pancakes were great and the edges were nice and crispy.
Sausage was done well and I had plenty of syrup.

This location is really easy to get to right off the highway and service has been great with no issues.

Everyone should know they have a small store you can wonder around before or after and plneof rocking chairs in front
Maybe play some checkers with your kids and hope they play with their kids in the future

Cracker barrel always reminds me of a place to stop when your traveling cuz you know what your gonna get and its usually right off the hwy.

The store was clean along w my table.
They have the small triangle & peg game to test your skills on to pass time. ( I made 1 of these in shop class many many years ago )

Food was horrible. Don't bother getting the new foil wrapped food. You get one small portion of meat two small carrots and two small potatoes. Its greasy and not worth it. Our biscuits were not cooked all the way. And when we told our waitress. She stated oh yeah we thought they looked a little light but served them anyway. Dumplings tasted like breakfast gravy. No chicken or anything in it. When we told them we were a group of 7 the eye roll was like we were putting them out. We went on Saturday to celebrate my mother's day with my older children and they were not busy at all so didn't understand that one.

Laura was a fantastic server and the food was great! We love the large fireplace in the winter!

The pancakes were awesome years ago, but now, not so much. They’re a bit doughy. This the 4th time and apparently the quality has just gone down. Why won’t you allow substitutions for those who don’t eat meat ??? And for those who do eat meat, but not pork, why do you have an Up Charge for substituting Chicken sausage for breakfast??? Also, my wife got a pancake breakfast that came with : eggs. It was more like 1 1/2 eggs.It’s bad enough to pay for breakfast without an item on the plate because she done eat meat and you don’t allow substitute, and she gets a 11/2 eggs served to her. We used to LOVE your restaurant but now it’s very disappointing and underwhelming.

This location has fallen down to absolutely BAD!! This location used to be a place we knew we could count on good & hot food when not wanting to go over the river. In the last 5 times we left 3 after sitting at our table ( not busy either) for 30 minutes and no service. Mind you there were managers plural walking around and still nothing! The other 2 times service is awful, food slopped on plate, cold and tasted adequate. The management is where this begins and ends!! When management is sub par your staff is right there with you from the cooks to servers and everyone in between, the older lady that rings people out is so rude it's absolutely RIDICULOUS and she has been there a long time. What the hell has happened with Cracker Barrel and particularly this location! It is sad and unacceptable!

No substitute, if you’re vegetarian don’t go there, all meal comes with meat, and when I ask to substitute meat for hash browns they said no, or I have to pay additional cost. No thank you.
