We have been going there since we moved to area in 2002. I normally order prime rib sandwich, no bread. Tonight I did French Dip which per menu....piled high of tender roast beef. There was one thin piece of "processed" meat on one end of bread and couple other pieces on bread, meat was well over cooked and did not look appealing at all. I did not eat and our bartender gladly took off our bill. Very disappointed in tonight's food!

This place is incredible! We were in town pet sitting, and ended up here on accident. Between the delicious food, the kind and attentive wait staff, and the awesome old school gas pumps, we were impressed enough to eat here the next night, too! I can not say enough good things about this place. Definitely try the smoked catfish and the apple tart, you won't be disappointed!
Kid-friendliness: On Monday, they have a guy doing balloon animals, and he was doing an excellent job

Thursday at 12:37 p.m. on December 5, 2024 our visit to Ethyl’s Smokehouse restaurant located 8505 Veterans Memorial O’Fallon, Missouri was a good experience! The server was nice and very attentive. Thank You!! We are from out of state and we wanted a good burger and we got one! It was DELICIOUS! There little wait time. I would definitely recommend this location to other customers! When we are in the area again, we will stop by to enjoy the DELICIOUS food and service!

Ethyl’s gives small town, retro, country bar with good BBQ and bar food. The space looks great for the summer - has an outdoor volleyball court and playground! - and is also cozy for the winter.
The food was good! My mom ordered a salad, grandma had the pulled pork plate, my dad got the nachos and I ordered a cheeseburger. My dad is a repeat customer and really likes their nachos. As it was my first time, I can say that on a burger scale this was a solid one. Dipping it in BBQ sauce was perfect. Grandma had so much food she took some home and my mom finished her salad and liked it.

On my 3rd disappointment here. I waited awhile before coming back this time. Kind of a stretch to call it a bbq place. Its more like a bar that happens to have bbq. Super dry pulled pork- a shame because my diet doesn’t allow sauce to liven it up. Waitress was attentive. Food came out in a reasonable time. My only issue is really the same money gets better bbq elsewhere.

I cannot understand why restaurants put shredded cheese on chips then microwave it up til they two have become one big hard lump and consider it nachos. Been a chef for 20 years and while nachos are not fancy they should be edible and enjoyable. Other than that the pork was delicious and the atmosphere was chill.
