This was our second visit and was just as happy this time as the first. The empanadas were delicious as were the pastries. I have to say also that this is some of the best coffee ANYWHERE. I had the dulce du Leche latte and it's fantastic!
Had our first visit here today and everything was delicious and delicately made. I've only ever had fried empanadas, but the baked chicken was my favorite. Somehow light and dense at the same time. Same for the fried cheese. The chicharron sandwich was crispy and squishy, the perfect amount of fried to fat. The BREAD! Nutella filled croissant was made with the same delicate touch. No flavor overpowered another in any bite. I love this place and plan on many repeat visits.
Ohmygoodness! Almost a religions experience drinking the cortado along with the most delicious bread pudding North of New orleans ( dense, moist, flavorful) sampled the savory empanadas, and a Nutella pastry as well. Could have stayed all day and gained a few pounds I'm sure. Personal service and helps the newbies pick out a perfect meal.
We sampled many items from the menu- all of it was delicious. By far, these are the best baked empanadas in the area.
First time going here, I will raise it a star next time I go. I always like to go somewhere twice before I give 5 stars. With that being said the lady behind the counter was very friendly and answered my question about what was the most authentic pastry. Seems all pasteries come from different countries in South America which is neat. I stayed away from. The Nutella selection since I wouldn't consider that authentic. Both pastries I had were very fresh and weren't overly sweet. Definitely 5 stars.I also had a cortado while I prefer a cortadito not many places other then Florida have a cortadito though. But it was very good none the less. It had just the right amount of coffee flavor with the milk.A steak empanada was the last thing I got with a side of the very spicy sauce and the Sriracha mayo mild sauce. The spicy sauce was perfect for me wasn't overly spicy but I'm sure it would be for others. I love that it was served on a real plate and not paper plates like other places.Next time I plan on trying a flavored latte while it might not be as authentic I still want to give it a try. If you havnt been here you should definitely go and support a local business like this. I'm sure this would be a laid back place to do some homework if you are a student or even minor remote work if you are a remote worker working out of your computer.
Stopped in with my teenage son and didn't know what to order. It's really nice that you can see the different pastries and empanadas in the display and the woman behind the counter was very patient explaining what each was. We tried 3 different empanadas, the vegetable Peruvian omelette, bread pudding, and a few pastries. My son said the chicken and beef empanadas were the best and I said the pork, so I think they're all great. Flavorful, soft, great texture. Of the sauces, the Sriracha one was our favorite. The canoncitos (sp. The little cones with caramel-like filling) were awesome--flaky, crisp cone with smooth, rich filling. The tiny sandwich cookie ones were also good, crumbly and crunchy. The omelette was good with the spicy sauce, the texture was different than a regular omelette, so interesting to try. And I dislike bread pudding, but my son says it was good. Try the beverages, they're also interesting. There's flan too if you're into that. Overall, I'd return to sample the rest of the pastries and eat more empanadas!
I tried the steak and chicken empanadas and found the flavor and texture both excellent. The empanada fillings were more complex and gourmet than I expected. Also got some miniature dessert cookies that were delicious. Will be going back to this place soon!
Excellent chicken empanadas! I will try the medium spice sauce next time. The pastry was even better! Delicious and melted in my mouth!Definitely taking friends back to this South America Bakery and Cafe!
The best coffee in O’Fallon. I got a coffee/pastry combo for $7. I chose the flat white and it was fantastic. It makes me sad to see a long line for mediocre coffee at Starbucks while this gem is right next door.I went back a second time and got the meal deal which includes an empanada, a pastry, and a drink. I got a ground beef empanada, Nutella croissant, and latte. The empanada was very tasty. The only thing I didn’t like were the olives, but they were easy enough to pick out. The Nutella croissant was fantastic! And again, best coffee in O’Fallon.
Coffee was really good. Fresh dough and pastry. Friendly staff. I'll be back to try the pork sandwich.

First timer and I will give them a 5 out of 5. Got a variety of empenadas and pastries. Restaurant itself was very clean and has a warm feeling. You have to try these folks. I will return!
Such a delicious spot! We love the empanadas and sweet treats. My daughter is obsessed with the OJ. Thank you for providing delicious, authentic food for a great price!
I love this little place. It's a little business owned by a husband and wife. The husband is from Peru, and they are so sweet. I'm a lover of all meet-filled pastries, and their empanadas are the best I've ever had. Always get them baked, and make sure you have them with their special yellow sauce. Don't forget a fresh squeezed OJ or an espresso or pour over! I hope this place sticks around for a very long time!
Just a great place that cares about quality and service. We got 6 Empanadas for three peeps and it was just right. Halved them all. Very good and could not tell you which was the best. Every one we tried we said: this one is the best! Lady there was real helpful when ordering. Had a flan for desert and it was the great. You would be making a severe mistake if you did not order a Affogato at the end. Scoop of ice cream with Expresso on top. So good.
Delicious empanadas! Our favorites were the pork and beef. The meat was so tender and the pastry was flaky and a perfect compliment. Don't miss out on dessert - so many choices! Highly recommend supporting this local, family-owned and operated business.
