Understaffed. My takeout was 1.5 hours past estimated ready time that the website said. Sushi I was good per usual.. but they can’t really handle a Friday night. The tiny lobby and outside was bursting with hungry guests , and they seemed to lack the care to appear apologetic.

Went late at night to get a quick bite. Great service. Good options on rolls and sushi. Pricing is little confusing. Paper menu has no prices listed and hard menu does not have the items listed what are on the other menu. We did not choose all you can eat option. Just picked few rolls and a seaweed salad with cucumber.

They charge extra if you leave rice when you choose the “all-you-can-eat” sushi option. That’s fine, but when you order all-you-can-eat, they make the sushi with an EXCESSIVE AMOUNT of rice. The rice portions are so LARGE that they barely fit in my mouth.
If you don’t want people to eat too much, just don’t offer an “all-you-can-eat” option. I’d rather pay more than be forced to eat sushi that’s mostly rice with very little fish.

My wife placed an order online thinking it was the O'Fallon IL location. Come to find out she accidentally placed the order to the O'Fallon MO location..(2+ hours away). A honest mistake, However.. They would not refund or credit her in any way so she lost the entire $80.00... The very worst customer service we've experienced. We will be avoiding business with Sushi Ai in the future.
We got all you can eat sushi. Some of the rolls were great, some were not great. The service was attentive and prompt. I would definitely go back, but now I know what not to order.

I love this place! Sushi in the Midwest definitely comes with it's challenges... but the fact that my 7 year old will slam down 6 pieces of raw tuna, a couple rolls, miso, and about 3 orders of the shrimp dumpling should let you know that even a picky eater becomes a food critic while here ?
