I have seen many many improvements at the Grand glaze!!! The staff is second to none from the owner,to the house cleaning, and all those in between. I highly recommend it or give it a chance they will bend over backwards for you!!!
The Inn at Grand Glaize is a staple in the Lake of the Ozarks area! Guests frequently highlight the beautiful views and attentive staff. It’s always a top recommendation for those looking for a relaxing and scenic stay.
Never indicated to us while booking that hotel was under construction. King size room with pull out sofa bed for our special needs son. Pull out bed was obviously broken and at an angle and food crumbs inside on mattress. Had to get blankets and pillow for son to sleep on a couch. Blanket given was practically tore in half. Phone in room didn’t work, toilet didn’t flush right and had to have plunger. Holes in the ceiling and a cracks in the walls. Rotted balcony . Vent quit in bathroom and spewed dust and hair all over. This hotel really should be investigated by the BBB.
First off, I've been attending this hotel four times per year for the past six years or so for a convention. I have no control over where this event is held, so I'm stuck here. Chris, the concierge/door man/maintenance man/entertainer/fishing guide/customer support/guest satisfaction specialist, is the only thing holding the place together. It seems like he puts in 18 hours every day and he is an absolute rock star! Unfortunately, he is putting energy into a black hole. Since my first visit, the place has been "under construction", "under new management", "working on improvements." The elevators rarely both work at the same time, paint is chipping off of walls, stained carpets, balcony railings are rotting, mold in bathrooms, tubs, and rooms. Our reservations get bumped, shuffled, or lost regularly, I've had food poisoning from their breakfast buffet, one in our group had bed bugs, our room has been absolutely covered in drywall dust, trash bags left on our balcony in our "just cleaned" room...I could go on for hours. I hope they turn it around, but I doubt they have the millions it will take to correct this place.
100% do not recommend this hotel, and would rather have slept in my car. We were here for a baseball tournament, and this hotel was picked after the teams head coach received emails stating it had been completely renovated, and all the rooms were brand new. Then we check in, and the emails were a complete lie. The rooms were muggy, the bathroom door didn’t open all the way because of the curved shower pole, sheets were dirty, hot water wouldn’t turn on in the bathroom sink, the cold water handle fell off, and this was just our room. Other parents found dirty socks in between their bed sheets, and finger nail clippings on the bed as well. We checked out a day early, were told as long as we checked out by 1:30pm we would be refunded for the night, then told we would not be refunded, even though they lied about the cleanliness and overall appearance of the hotel. So if you are planning on staying here, I would cancel and find somewhere else. The pool is a hike away from the hotel, the hot tub had so much chlorine in it people were coughing after turning on the jets, and their “game room” was a pool table with no pool cues, surrounded by old torn leather couches.
Great location that probably was amazing in it's gay day! But they are so petty now they charge $25 for you not bringing your $0.50 room key to desk when you check out. The night auditor will push you to go to dispensary so he can get his discount. And the second shift doesn't know anything, went to front desk and asked if hot tub was open she said yes so we went and bought swimwear got back changed and went to hot tub and it was clos d maintenance stated it had been closed for some time now
Had a great time and the staff was wonderful!!
Always had a blast here! Great views of the lake and wonderful staff!
We checked into the resort late afternoon on December 27, 2022. We took a short nap and , when we woke up, turned on the TV. There was no service. We called the front desk and were told TV was out due to the storm. The facilities were all closed - no food, drinks, etc. The next day I was lathered up in the shower and the water went off. The front desk was "surprised" that no one had told us that the water was being turned off because of a break in the line. We checked out on the 29th and asked for a refund. The manager, Brenda, never got back to us, despite calls and emails. BAD experience for our anniversary trip.
Coming from someone who is a bit of a clean/neat freak I was very hesitant to book this place. I like the newly remodeled everyone knows the chain hotels. However, our family was staying here and insisted I give it a shot. After reading reviews it seemed it was going to be great or it was going to stink, no inbetween. Well I am pleased to say that we had a great stay. Yes the hotel is old and definitely showing its age but it functions. My room was clean but yes definitely outdated. What truly makes this place stand out is the staff. Chris who everyone raves about is truly a reason to book this place. You can feel his energy when you walk in and it's so hard to come by such friendly people esp those that like their job this day and age. Me and my family were able to chat w him while sitting around the bar and he has a very cool story. He truly loves his job. The bartender Flint was also very nice as well and poured great drinks! Front desk again super friendly. We appreciated the staff so much we gave them a tip. They deserve it! So if your like me just take the plunge, go in with a open mind. This place gets trashed from all the visitors (esp young college kids) in the summer so it makes sense while their a bit hesitant to update. I do think it would benefit them greatly to complete a facelift. Until then keep paying your staff well bc they are what keep people coming back.

I've been coming to this hotel every so often for a few years.. If this has been renovated it must need a good cleaning. I knew as soon as I pulled in that something was going on and at the desk and was told there were Frat Houses booked 1 from KC and 1 from Mizzou and all thier girlfriends and I heard on the my floor a couple of girls sports teams. I was above the Tiki Bar and yea. They were running well stumbling up and down the elevators and halls. It's 2:00 and the room next to me is jamming. The students were polite except for ones that were drunk way to early in the night. I am mostly upset they didn't tell me so I could have went somewhere that was peaceful. I haven't had a weekend by myself for over 2 years. This is that weekend. I've never been so disappointed.
I sent an email about our experience on August 29, received a quick reply stating they were sorry for our experience and the email was forwarded to the General Manager who would contact us, as of today I have not hear from the General Manager. The only 5 star experience was Chris, the door man. He went above and beyond to greet and accommodate us, his friendliness and smile was the best part of our stay. Our recent stay with you, August 26 – 28 was horrible. Our room 340 was not clean. The bed was made but the sheets were not changed. One bed had a mattress protector the other did not, it only had one flat sheet and the comforter. There were bottle caps and debris all over the rug. There was a strong smell of urine which came from the toilet not being flushed, the toilet was dirty with black rings around the bowl had feces stains. The fridge was iced over and not cooling. The screen for the sliding door was leaning against the balcony wall and the outside table and chairs had bird droppings on them. We called the front desk to report this and they said we couldn’t be in the room for them to clean it so we left the room for about 2 hours and upon our return the room was still in the same condition. I went down to the front desk and reported the rooms condition again and told them we left the room as asked an nothing was done. I then let them know we were leaving the room for several hours and if they can fix the issues. A young man said he will let “them” know. We arrived back in our room later that evening and still nothing was done. We have stayed at your establishment for several years and NEVER had we had this kind of service. Management of their personnel should be looked into, so future guests don’t have to deal with the deplorable conditions and lack of service we had to endure during our stay.
The staff at the Inn were very courteous and helpful. I was especially appreciative of Chris, he helped us in various capacities from transporting us and our ice chest to and from the dock. We enjoyed a good breakfast each morning, Brenda and Shaun kept our drinks filled and cleared the tables.
Hotel could use a little work maintenance wise but beautiful location. The staff on the other hand was top notch. Chris was willing to do anything to make sure you were taken care of. Rest of the staff was great but names elude me. Waiter in the restaurant every morning was always going the extra mile. The front desk people were all amazing taking care of incidentals like towels, keys that stopped working stuff like that. All in all a very pleasant stay.
While the facility has been around for a long time, they have been renovating and updating the facility, that said, I rated it four stars; however, if I was just rating the the staff, it would have easily earned five + stars! I was there for a large fraternal event and we occupied the entire place! The staff new many of us by our first name within a couple days and treated as if we were family, and I would be honored to be a member of any of their families. Looking forward to my next stay.
