I have loved this place for nearly 40 years, starting with their old location in Springfield and now at their place in Ozark. Their hot and sour soup is the best around (especially great on cold days), they have actual hot mustard (not the little packets), and their house beef is one of my favorite things I've ever eaten. The restaurant is relatively quiet and not to brightly lit. You can definitely have quiet conversations. If you've read any of my other reviews you'll find that one of the main reasons I write reviews is because of good service. The people at Yen Ching have always been very nice to me, and the servers are pretty timely in taking orders and refilling drinks. Give them a try.

On the suggestion of a long-term friend, we met up at Yen Ching. It was good, but not the best Asian I've had.
The prices were kinda high until you realize this restaurant is located in Ozark, along US 65, on the way to Branson. The food was ok, the service was really good, but with all the places in the greater Springfield area, I doubt I'll be back soon.

The food was good, service was good. I had the sweet and sour and Kung pao chicken. With egg drop soup and spring rolls. There are shrimp in the egg drop soup which was a different twist on the original version, but it was good.

My favorite sit-down Chinese restaurant in the area. My family and friends have been going here for decades and though I moved, I still stop by whenever I’m in town.

Probably the best Chinese in the area. My only advice is if you are ordering for a large group during lunchtime make sure to tell them you want dinner portions. Because at the end of the day, the two dollar savings that you probably aren’t thinking about anyways will cost you a lot of time and a lot of money on the back end when you realize that you got half the portion for two dollars less.

This was no doubt the best Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. Szechuan chicken, sweet and sour soup, egg roll appetizer. It was a bit pricy for lunch, $28 after tip, with only water to drink. I overheard another waitress tell another table Lunch is discounted. Mine wasn’t, but who knows.
I’ll definitely be back!

Short and sweet. Way too expensive. I've ordered here a lot in the past, and thought it was too expensive. But NOW. Too much
Good bye Yen Ching.

This place is the best in the area
Unfortunately, we will not be patrons of Yen Ching any longer. We just spent $70 for two meals and an appetizer & got home and both of our fried rices were MIA and our crab Rangoon was overdone. Called up and they were going to put the credit of $13 under my name for next time. I spoke with the owner & he said “nope we took care of you with the credit” and I asked if he was going to apologize and he said “nope, and you won’t tell me how to run my business”
I was never unruly or raised my voice, just simply wanted an apology for missing “half” of our meal.
Sadly, this place has gone down hill the last several years. I’ve been going there for 22ish years (remember when they served it in Ozark High School -unsure if they still do). I used to recommend it all the time, and was a chosen place for birthday celebrations with my family. I will be finding a new regular spot to support ownership that appreciates their customers.
