Great food

Simply the best! normal! meals, cookbook, textbook, dictionary definition food. Great! Exactly what I want when looking for asian comfort food. I guarantee they could make insane 5 star food but that is not the goal here, it's fast food done RIGHT!

Service was fine. Food was SUBpar. Soup was slimy. The chicken was flavorless. Shrimp tempura was flavorless and it came out to be 64 dollars before tip. But our server did a very good job!

Worst Chinese food. I would have gone and to a small Chinese restaurant fast food version that overpay for such horrible food.
The fried rice was more like steam rice, way over cooked, and the cooker put way too much water for the rice.

Found this place on our way home. Restaurant is located in a shopping center and shares parking with other businesses. Depending on how busy the businesses are determines whether you're going to find parking. Exterior of the restaurant matches the interior which looked upscale, classy, and absolutely beautiful. The hostess was pleasant and seated us right away. The space is divided into two (2) main sections consisting of bar seating, 4 person table seating, booth seating, and large party seating (5+). We were seated in the section to the right. Our server was nice, but it took a while before we even knew who he was...about a good 15 minutes. It was busy so maybe that was the issue šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø When he finally arrived, he was nice. We ordered an order of crab rangoon, fried dumplings, Thai shrimp fried rice, Tofu with vegetables, and Korean crispy chicken. The vegetarian/vegetable selection was limited to 3 options. The appetizers were just okay. Not great and definitely not memorable. Everything we ordered was edible, but just okay. Kind of expensive for what I would classify as basic, run of the mill Asian food in a really fancy looking building. Our appetizers arrived cold, the sauces were off putting (too much horseradish in the what was supposed to be hot mustard and the sweet and sour sauce/duck sauce tasted like apple sauce). Our entrees arrived temperature hot, but lacked flavor, seasoning, and were relatively small portion wise for the price. Overall, āļøāļøāļø

Parking: Restaurant is located in a shopping center that shares parking with other businesses. The shared parking lot is large, but you might have to drive around to find any available parking or park far away depending on how busy they are.

This place is my favorite. Veggies are always cooked perfectly and service is always great. The kung pow chicken is amazing. My kid loves their sweet and sour too.

I haven’t eaten here in about 20 years and tonight, I’m reminded why. My daughter was starving and wanted Chinese food. I hoped maybe this place had changed over the decades in my absence. Nope. This is still the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I got the Lemon chicken ($15.95). I’ve had very good lemon chicken at other places. This lemon chicken however, is horrible. (By the way I had vegetables added for $2) Just so you know, the ā€œlemon sauceā€ is basically something like a dessert topping or a pie filling. Absolutely frigging disgusting. I did end up taking the leftovers home because 1.) money is tight and I don’t like to throw food away and 2.) I tried to scrape off the horrific sauce in hopes that maybe at home I can put a different sauce on it and salvage it, but who knows, we’ll see how that goes, I guess.

My daughter had the sesame chicken (also$15.95 and with no vegetables), it was the worst sesame chicken I’ve tasted but it was still better than the lemon chicken. But that isn’t saying much. We also ordered crab Rangoon, which again was not great. It’s very, I don’t know, garlicky or something.

The service was great, very nice and helpful waitress, I feel like a jerk for not remembering her name.

Anyway, I’m $50 poorer in a bad economy to be reminded that Yen Ching is the worst Chinese restaurant in the tri-state area. I seriously have no idea how this place has remained in business. It blows my mind.

Do yourself a favor and drive across highway 65 and go over to Thai Palace. Way better food and better prices.

This is my favorite cashew chicken in the area. Love the spicy cashew chicken. I wish they'd bring back the apple chicken.
