We recently held my mother's 90th birthday celebration at Café des Amis. From the planning to the party, everything was amazing. William, the owner, went above and beyond, making the whole process so easy. We chose our menu which was printed and placed at each place setting. We felt welcomed and comfortable in the beautiful private dining room which easily accommodated our group of 32. The food was fresh and delicious. William was the perfect host, and served us himself. We couldn't have had a more perfect venue for my mom's special day. Thank you William and Café des Amis! We will come back soon to try more of your delicious food.
Still the best lunch in KC Metro!!!!
Though we had exceptional service and the atmosphere was great, the food lacked luster. Unrefined French food at best. The pate was gritty and way too cold with no crusty bread accompaniment. The tomatoes, though a pallet cleaner, were unnecessary and seemed like an afterthought. Our mains; pork cheek and scallops, were a uniquely low point. The pork dish was rich, which I expected, but had no acid or texture to break-up the dish. It was dauntingly heavy. The scallops weren't cleaned and had the abductor muscles still attached. The dish was also heavy and needed acid as well to break everything up and bring it together. It just tasted of salt, butter, and scallop. The drinks were delightful and shined through the meal along with the bread. Overall a gem to find in a small city, it was a gem confused on its food facet on the plate.
Lovely quiet setting for delicious food. Unlike at most other noisy places, you can converse over dinner. Perfect for a special occasion, or just a lovely meal.
If you want a fabulous meal served by a wonderful staff, you must visit and eat here.
You will be allowed to be disappointed!

Food was amazing! Staff was knowledgeable about what items were gluten free. I have celiac and pretty sensitive to cross contamination and had no issues. Can’t wait to go back!

This is one of our favorite places. Every time we go we try to get something new, but always have to pick at least one old favorite (the mussels, scallops, and veal sweet breads). The filet, scallops, and scallops are always our favorite entrees. The pork is great, but I suggest to ask for a thicker cut as it seemed to be more moist. The wine list is also a chapter book and fun to look at.. and the desserts are spectacular. 10/10. Especially if you get to meet the owner who is a complete delights. I won’t even try to spell his name, but he is very French, and the most personable and hospitable and happy go lucky guy ever. If you happen to find him opening bottles of champagne via a knife, you’re in for dinner and a show! 10/10

The lamb came out missing the wine sauce, and we weren't asked if we'd like a second glass of wine until we asked for the check. We felt entirely ignored by our server.

I'm not easily impressed and the bar is pretty low sometimes in Kansas City. Everything was spectacular. The atmosphere is intimate and upscale but also relaxed like eating in someone's home. Every dish we had was special and well done. The wine recommendations were delicious, they fired each course at the perfect time and the service was great. They left us alone but also didn't miss a step. A hidden gem and a prime example of what more restaurants should aim for in an ever more corporate, burn and turn cafeteria style of alot of local restaurants. Great job.

Had a great lunch outside today! Service and food were excellent and priced nicely! Try it if you’re around Parkville! Wish I’d had room for dessert as I’m sure they were fabulous.

Atmosphere rated low because of snooty French staff--remember you're in Parkville Missouri!
Didn't like how we were treated, felt like they were rushing us out.
Food was disappointing to many of us. Description on salad menu did not match what was served. Salad had goat cheese (which I dislike) instead of Blue cheese, salad dressing tasted like nothing but garlic juice, first time I have ever left a salad!
Fish didn't have enough flavor.
A very disappointing night at cafe Amis!
