Went out for anniversary dinner. Nice intimate setting after a pleasant walk around downtown Parkville. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful.
Dinner was as good as advertised. We started with the snails; delicious and meaty. My wife had the scallops, which were prepared with a delicious bacon bourbon jam. I had the Lamb and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly.
Ended our evening with probably the best Crème Brûlée we’ve ever had.
Service was excellent. Atmosphere was just what we were looking for and the food was all we had hoped for. Would highly recommend you to take the time to take advantage of this genuine dining experience up North.

The experience is truly what wins the cake here.

We started with their special soup a butternut squash with what I believe was maple and maybe brown sugar. It reminded me of the holidays: comforting, warm, and absolutely delicious.

Our second appetizer was the Ris de Veau. I wanted to expand my palate… and unfortunately, that was not my best idea. I’m not picky at all, but this dish just wasn’t for me and ours was slightly undercooked. That said, our server handled it wonderfully, had it sent back immediately, and removed it from our bill with no hesitation. The service alone deserves recognition.

For our main dishes, everything was solid. I ordered the porc and was especially excited about the port and cranberry reduction and it absolutely delivered. So flavorful and rich. The sautéed sweet potatoes were good, but the real surprise was the braised cipollini onions. I never thought I’d crave eating an onion by itself… yet here we are. Lol.

My husband ordered the Truite. The flavor was great, but the temperature was a bit off. It wasn’t undercooked or overcooked it just wasn’t warm. He still finished it, and I tried it as well. We both loved the creamy parmesan risotto that came with it.

This is the perfect place for romance. It’s unique, intimate, and the ambiance is something you truly have to experience for yourself.

I'm giving one star due to their inconsistent closing times and rude staff. They do DO NOT keep closing times, as advertised. If you're going to close early, politely explain to the customer and UPDATE YOUR HOURS!

I was there 40 minutes PRIOR to your 2 p.m. advertised closing time, on a Thursday, only to be scolded about THEIR decision to close early, since the kitchen staff went home. This has happened to me twice in a short period. I overlooked the first time, but the second time, no way.

Is this disrespectful treatment to customers new?

The man, presuming it was the manager, unlocked the front door, spoke to me with a very rude tone and slammed the door in my face. He should learn to be respectful and not arrogant. Afterall, it is customers who KEEP a business OPEN. Perhaps he has forgotten.

I've never had a problem with the food, but the service is a hit or miss, depending on the attitude of the servers or manager.

I hope the owners fix this unwelcoming and RUDE treatment of customers.

Visiting from a much larger city, I'll wait for French food, until I get back.

*Thank you for the response from the owner. Just to add a comment from the owner's response, the day this happened to me, was yesterday, and the employee/manager who was very rude, was not the owner. The owner is pleasant, unlike the dark haired person I encountered.

My husband and I had such a great experience here tonight. Sarah was amazing and understood food allergies so well. There was no dedicated gluten free menu but they were able to accommodate me and make adjustments to things if needed. The woman at the table next to me also had a different type of food allergy and from what I heard they were very accommodating to hers as well. Everything was so delicious and cooked to perfection. This is our new favorite restaurant in Parkville. We will definitely be telling our friends about this place and we will definitely be back!!

Great French cuisine, had the quail and it was very rich and tender and the black truffle sauce was what took it over the top, the foie gras was exceptional!!
