We recently held my mother's 90th birthday celebration at Café des Amis. From the planning to the party, everything was amazing. William, the owner, went above and beyond, making the whole process so easy. We chose our menu which was printed and placed at each place setting. We felt welcomed and comfortable in the beautiful private dining room which easily accommodated our group of 32. The food was fresh and delicious. William was the perfect host, and served us himself....
Though we had exceptional service and the atmosphere was great, the food lacked luster. Unrefined French food at best. The pate was gritty and way too cold with no crusty bread accompaniment. The tomatoes, though a pallet cleaner, were unnecessary and seemed like an afterthought. Our mains; pork cheek and scallops, were a uniquely low point. Food was amazing! Staff was knowledgeable about what items were gluten free. I have celiac and pretty sensitive to cross contamination and had no issues. Can’t wait to go back!
