Great atmosphere for small tables (2-4 people) Food was just ok, but atmosphere and drinks were great.
My low rating is for larger parties. The hostess and manager came around "shushing" tables telling larger parties to be quiet to accommodate small tables. More than one large party was told to "be quieter". We shared that we had made a reservation and were told we would be in an area to accommodate our Birthday Party of 20. They responded with "Well how much did you pay for the reservation?"
If you are meeting several friends or having a larger party (more than 8 🤷🏼♀️) I would skip this establishment unless you want to be shushed.

I've always had a good experience at Char Bar in Parkville. We stopped in on Black Friday, and they were serving brunch. I tried the Bits and Grits, and they were delicious. There were several more options I wanted to try. I recommend catching brunch when they have it for some special treats.
Service was very fast, food delicious and atmosphere is very fun with several TVs for watching sports and great outdoor patio games including pickleball

I’ve lived in KC my whole life and traveled all over to the best barbecue places from here to way past the Mississippi, and this is BY FAR the best BBQ I’ve ever had. I highly recommend the burnt ends. Compliments to the chef. You’ve outdone yourself. Hands down better than everyone in KC. We will be back. ???

Had a pick up order to be picked up at 7pm. Didn’t even receive it until 7:45pm. Food is good, but I don’t want to wait that long for it after the time I should’ve had it.

Same Conflict
Disappointed with their quality control. I've been here twice in recent weeks, ordered the Burnt Ends entree both times, both times the meat was incredibly dry and tough. The first time I asked for a new serving (and the fresher cut meat was incredible), but the second time I didn't want to hassle with it. A customer shouldn't have to ask for a corrected plate of fresh and juicy meat. Lots of potential, but they need to be consistent with the meat quality. I live near by, but I can't recommend or frequent this place due to their quality issues.

So my wife and I were in the mood for barbecue and wanted to try this fairly new restaurant. Got the lunch special maybe my expectations are too high when they brought me the beef sandwich and a small cup of fries I was taken back by how little the sandwich was and how few the fries were. Not just this place but all barbecue places when did this become so expensive. Now the sandwich was great and the fries were good. So we got beef which was an upcharge and total of $16 for such a small sandwich. I would think a repeat customer would be your best customer maybe I shouldn't have come hungry. Though I will not be going back because this is just maybe for upscale people not regular folk.

My kettle one vodka martini was $18 a double they called it. I have never seen this before. Ever. Most expensive martini I have had in the Kansas City area by 25%
Everything was great except the yellow jackets from eating outside. Would have rated 5 stars. Don't sit outside to dine unless you want to swat ar wasps.
Kid-friendliness: There are plenty of outside games and artificial turf for kids to play.

Payton was attentive and caring, wish I could say the same about others. There was no host when we arrived, there were couple of servers doing side work at the front booth, none of them acknowledged us or told us to wait. No manger to be found either, waited almost 10 minutes to be sat, good thing football game was on ? ? . Baked chicken was delicious, and so was the holy trinity.
