This visit was for a team luncheon of 8ppl. We were able to reserve a secluded area in advance at no cost. Ordered appetizers and side salads. Everything was delicious and our server was professional and quick. Great experience!

I had Grandma's Chicken. It was delicious, the jalapeño cheddar grits was delicious and the green beans french style was just good. Over all yes I would order it again.

I’ve had several meals here in the past and they were always very good. We came in today for a New Year’s meal with my husband, who had never been to Nick & Jake’s before. Our waitress was wonderful, very attentive and patient while answering all of my husband’s questions.

We started with drinks and the pot stickers, which were excellent and absolutely worth ordering. For our entrées, my husband ordered Grandma’s chicken, and I chose the fish special: crab crusted cod with saffron risotto and asparagus. The first plate looked beautiful, but unfortunately the food was ice cold. The fish and risotto tasted like they had just come out of the refrigerator, and the fish in the centre of the plate was slimy.

I let our waitress know, and she apologised and took the plate back. The manager brought out a second plate with many apologies. This time the food was hot, but the presentation was a mess. The fish was crumbled on top of the asparagus, covered in sauce, and had no crust, no crab, and very little flavour. When I moved the asparagus to cut them, the bottom of the plate was swimming in oil.

I spoke with the manager again, and he agreed he wouldn’t eat that dish either. They did make it right on the bill, which I appreciated, but I left disappointed and still hungry. Unfortunately, this wasn’t a good experience, especially for my husband’s first visit, and we won’t be returning.

Nick & Jake’s is a popular restaurant in the Kansas City area with locations in several cities. This location in Parkville is probably the fourth location that I’ve been to and the most recent one. Actually, my guy and I dine here quite often as it is a convenient location for us. The Parkville location is situated in a strip mall so parking can be a challenge. Occasionally we have had to make a short walk but nothing to worry about. We prefer the bar seating but there is a nice dining room area as well. It can get loud in the bar, as there are many televisions and loud conversations but we still prefer the bar vibe over the dining room. We have always had great service and no matter how busy they are ( and believe me, they get very busy on the weekends), our service has always been prompt and friendly and the food is delivered quickly. My favorite drink is the red Sangria. It is consistent between locations and is always delicious. My favorite menu item is the chicken pot pie. It comes with a flaky crust and has a generous portion of chicken and vegetables. It is a heavier dish, so I usually order it in the winter time. If I’m feeling like a salad, they have an Asian Salad that is a mixture of noodles and lettuce with spicy shrimp. On the appetizer menu, they have a bruschetta that I sometimes make a meal out of because it’s so good. For us, Nick & Jake’s is always a solid choice for dinner and I can honestly say we’ve never had a bad meal there.

Very busy place, on a Thursday night at 6 pm the place was packed and parking lot full. It's definitely a popular spot. Wait to be seated was pretty short. It was LOUD. Lot's of conversations already, and then they played the sports channel over it all over loud speakers. Food was good, it had some cool spots which could indicate a little kitchen magic? Food came out relatively quick. Service was sparse, took drink order and food order and checked back once. I wrote this review after eating waiting for my check. Prices are a little high, in my opinion, but not outrageous. Overall, it was good but not great.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Nick and Jake's there's a reason it's been around so long the food was excellent. I had the Grandma's Chicken and my dining companion had the salmon and they both were excellent
