Barley and Vine is a very cute spot in an otherwise pretty sparse downtown. The building itself is beautiful, wonderfully decorated. The wines are fantastic and so are the cocktails. Never tried the beers. The only complaint I have about this place is one I can’t believe has never been mentioned before…the lighting is god awful! It is so SUPER bright in there. A bar/lounge should have dimmer, cozier lighting. When you walk in here it feels like walking into a school cafeteria...
Depending on the time you visit you either get the vine vine or the barley vibe but both are good. Just emphasis the both sides to this place. Great bartenders and selection of drinks.
This is a classy little Brewery in Platte City. They obviously serve great wine along with cocktails. Billy brews some of the best beer you'll ever taste! This is my wife and my favorite place to go as it is local to us. Laura and the crew have done an outstanding job making this place very classy and, at the same time, very welcoming! This is like The Cheers of Platte City to me! They also have a wine club, and you can purchase bottles of wine whenever they're open....
