Young man at front desk very nice. Hotel cat was sweet. That would be the highlight of our experience. First room we checked in was never cleaned and was a filthy disgusting mess. Then we moved rooms and it had clean bedding and the jetted tub was clean. The second room had leftover coffee from god knows when on, in and under the microwave as well as the floor. All faucets and mirrors far from clean. In the end we cleaned the room ourselves so we could finally relax before going to the event we were in town for. After driving 6 hours all we wanted to do was relax and they didn’t make it possible. We investigated both rooms and at least we didn’t find any bugs in the rooms. I talked to management about setting things right and got told I would have to go to the booking platform to have it made right even though they took my payment at the lodge. We won’t be staying ever again and they need to train their crew better or start replacing the cleaning team.

The owner and staff are extremely friendly. It's a beautiful rustic lodge. The bar and lounge were definitely an added addition. The pizza was great. We've stayed here before and are looking forward to our next visit.

TLDR summary: unclean room, worn out needs updated facility, rude unhelpful manager. Had a family emergency and stayed in room four hours charged for 2 nights .

I hate writing bad reviews but sometimes it’s necessary.

I booked a last minute “mini honeymoon “ for my baby little brother. His wife is 9 months pregnant and they couldn’t go far from home so we booked three nights at bull-winkles for them. They checked in late at 9pm, at midnight I get a call that she is going into labor. I talk to the desk clerk explain the situation they say the manager will not be back til Monday but they assure me they will understand the emergency. Me being in a hurry to get to the hospital takes his word for it. Call today (Monday)and Sherry the manager is unprofessional and far from understanding. she blows me off and says “we don’t give refunds when you’ve been in the room.” I say I understand not receiving a refund for the first night but the other two is what I am referring to. She says she will look things over and hangs up with me. She doesn’t get my name or phone number or tell me her name or a timeframe so I call her back. It rings 6 times before she answers again. I ask for her name and a timeframe she says her name is sherry and she must put me on hold due to another call. hear the receiver set on the counter and can hear background sound but can’t make out any talking. After remaining on “hold” for 5:57 I hear someone pick up the receiver and hang it up. I immediately call her back and she answers as if she is greeting a new person. I tell her that she hung up on me and she says oh it must have been a disconnection. She then says we can’t give u a refund it’s through a third party and we don’t do these. I say so u are saying I need to call booking.com to get my refund? She says “sure” I told her she could have said this in the first place instead of the hold/hang up. She says “ I didn’t hang up on you”. The call ends and I call booking.com who was super apologetically and helpful. They called to deal with sherry. They call me back and tell me sherry refuses to refund more than one night. So I call my brother and sister in law to get details for this bad review. They said the room was disappointing but it was a gift so they had not told me. They said The blankets and decor were old. The room needs new paint. The jacuzzi tub short curly hairs in it ( So they couldn’t even take a bath which was why we chose this room). The only thing I can say good about this place is the boy who checked them in at night was very friendly. That’s it. Seriously run the other direction.

Rooms: Need updated. Dirty.

Nearby activities: Several flea markets and antique stores nearby. But far from anything else.

Walkability: Tall Flight of stairs to most rooms. Pretty gazebo on grounds.

Food and drinks: Bar is the only place to eat

If u are a clean person, read this review. We have been coming here for about 8 years, this last time, WAS HORRIBLE. Filthy rooms, stuff left in fridge (so u know it wasn't cleaned. Stunk!! I went and bought a candle and lysol and wipes, just so I could put my stuff of the counter. Nasty q-tips, laying in the bathroom, chairs were so disgusting. Bed headboard
looked like hadn't been wiped down in months u had to literally Run to your room the mosquitos were so bad (not exaggerating) MY FAMILY WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. NASTY ! O And the air wasn't working good, my husband took out the filter, it was BLACK , just gross and nasty. Really disappointed with way this place has become. ALSO , we had came as a family, and all 3 rooms we had were like this, we were all so ready to leave.

The first room we were assigned had an air conditioner that had a high pitched squeal and then the second one had the air conditioner cover vibrating loudly all night long. At 3:30 am the smoke alarm went off and I had to climb on a sink to stop it. Kids were running around at all hours of the day and night on the deck and the walls were paper thin. It was a cute room but we got absolutely no sleep. When we left, there was a distinct odor of the sewer outside. They did provide us with a safe place to plug in our boat for the night. Breakfast didn’t start until around 730 so we did not get any. The bathroom faucet dripped all night also. I would give this a one rating.

The room looked nice but there was a spider web on the wall. The microwave was dirty and the bed wasn’t that great the mattress cover was loud and kept making the bed sheet come off. There also needs food and coffee places closer

The rooms were ok until we discovered lots of bugs crawling around at night. Kids slept in the truck due to what were ticks. Now the saloon... That is a 10 out of 10. Food was good, service was amazing beer was cold! The atmosphere was so awesome. The people there were so cool to talk to. All locals loved it. Spray the rooms and I would come back just to go to the saloon!

We loved the atmosphere, beautiful pond and water fountain, quiet, peaceful area! I liked that it's pet friendly since we brought our dog! However, I didn't like that the bathroom wasn't very clean, the floor looked like it hadn't been swept or vacuumed, and they didn't have a back up of toilet paper, and we had to ask for more the next morning. The shower head only had one setting for water pressure and was slow. Rooms need to be updated, but overall it was a pleasant place to stay in. The outside strikes me as a log cabin and looks well maintained! My husband said that the front clerk, young guy,,was very personable and friendly. We would come back!

I had to have them sweep and vaccum the room when we arrived. The bathtub looked like it had just been wiped out and not cleaned.All the linens are old and faded. Worst room ever.
Little Debbie snacks for breakfast. No orange or apple juice.

((I WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE 1 STAR IF I DIDN'T HAVE TO)) I don't know how this place has that many stars because IT'S A JOKE!! a bunch of kids running it we stayed a week all together and the first time we had to ask twice for them to change the beds and bring towels and the second time the room wasn't even cleaned and the MANAGER did not care at all when we brought it to her attention which I could not believe and she was very very rude and disrespectful!! and the only reason we were in town was because my father had passed away but this place cost way to much to have to come in and clean the room yourself. We always stay here but we probably will not be staying here anymore after being treated like we did. You can definitely tell everyone who's running this place now does not care about it at all because it shows compared to how it used to be!!

First and foremost, I work every day. 10 to 12 hours a day, for my anniversary I took off. I came to the bullwinkles rustic lodges and got the jacuzzi room. Room 101 bottom floor great decor, It started off good. We went out to eat at 5ish back by 6ish. The wife wanted to use the tub. All is well... Then, the tub started leaking, and the jets wouldn't shut off. (NICE) Got the guy at the desk and came called, whoever comes back 10 minutes later. Let's move us to another room, okay, no big deal, this is 6:45 - 7pm. Well, first, in this room, the decoration is not very nice, the toilet is clogged, and the television is not working... GREAT RIGHT. Back to the now down the stairs desk guy. Comes up 7:30 by time he leaves our room. Which for some reason is marked on the door for a different price than what I obviously paid.. pictures coming. Round 2: Let's try the jacuzzi. Here we go 3 hours later, and it is finally full enough it got over the jets. Now, when I say barely full enough to use the tub. I mean it very seriously. 3 hours to get maybe halfway full. We eventually used all hot water, so it was luke warm before it was full. By this time, it is almost 11pm. I am done, but I never used it. My wife was determined to get in this tub and got up at 4:30 am. To fill this tub by 730ish. We checked out at 830, and i told the guy at the desk. He assures me we will see something back from all the hassle. He said he had already talked to his manager, and we could make it up to us. You know begin our anniversary in all. Ha, that was a lie. I have personally called on my breaks from working and complained 3 separate times now. Today, I got the manager, and guess what happened. She proceeded to tell me that we used the tub, which was the same price as there was nothing we could do to accommodate the issues. Now, I paid 178 dollars for the night in the first room. The 2nd room had a paper on the door with the prices 2 people is what we are. See the pictures. Good price difference, right? This place was horrible. Simple match the room quoted price I was happy but nope rather say screw the customers. Definitely do not recommend, oh but here is a discount for your next stay. Which is when? I work 7 days a week, people I asked to simply match the price as shown on the room door for it. I will not be staying back there. Try doing as asked, stop trying to get me to spend more money there with you. "You had a terrible experience here. Spend more stay again."
