Bullwinkles Rustic Lodge

I own a business a little ways down the road and I've had a few people ask me about how the rooms were there so I figured I would go and find out. We stayed in room 204 and as we were walking towards the room you could see that the outside of the building could use some major cleaning. Then as we entered the room it wasn't in no better shape than the outside. Under the bed didn't look like it had been swept or mopped in weeks the whirlpool tub was dirty and had to be cleaned before I used it there was a coffee pot but no coffee. Spider webs all around the ceiling and in the corners. No soap shampoo and one washcloth and two towels. It was definitely not what I was expecting. But now I know how the rooms are Incase anyone ask me again. It very well could be a beautiful place if someone would put some more time into it

Rooms are fairly clean & nice size , its located just out of town next to a soybean and rice field so be prepared for mosquitoe hell , be inside before sun goes down. no breakfast but they give ya powdered donuts and hunny bunns, not going beat it for the price .

Bullwinkle Rustic Lodge has a few positives — it’s quiet, conveniently close to the highway, reasonably priced, and the hotel clerk was very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the filthy condition of the room really took away from the experience.
The mattresses were old and uncomfortable, the towels were thin and worn out, and the bathtub had not been cleaned prior to arrival and there was hair from the previous guest as well as soap scum and dirt. The shower curtain had pink mold all along the bottom. The floors with dirty and did not look like they had ever been mopped. There was a coffee maker with bagged coffee provided, but no cups to use it with, and the Kleenex box was empty. There was also no soap or shampoo in the bathroom.
If you’re just passing through and need a cheap, quiet place to sleep for a night, this lodge might work — but don’t expect much in the way of comfort or cleanliness.

We stayed 2 nites, and have never stayed in a more dirty motel. It was pretty bad. Web page said they had a complementary breakfast, but they didn’t. They need to update their webpage..we had one tiny bar of soap, about the size of a small cracker. I’m not kidding, the shower curtain had pink mold growing on it. My daughter tried to scrap out the build up of God knows what in the shower stall. The drain was so full of knack hair, she tried to get some of it out with a wet piece of toilet paper. I could go on about how disgusting it was. But my advice to you is don’t stay there.

Overnight stop while traveling. Very convenient off the highway. Very quite.
Wasps in the light in the bathroom, we removed them and had no other issues.
The basket with treats was kind of sad. I guess it's the thought that counts.

The beds were very uncomfortable, Could feel the springs and fell to center of bed. Definitely need new mattresses for $92 a night.

Absolutely beautiful room the pictures don't do it justice....we got a suit and it's perfect for a kid free night and that whirlpool tub is off the chain 💕

I was here friday night downstairs, and i came across the front desk clerk outside smoking marijuana and i questioned about it, wondering if his boss/ manager new he was smoking on the job getting high, and he started getting a little hateful with me, and said its none of my business and that he runs the motel, clearly he doesn’t definitely not professional enough to do that, but on the other hand the property and rooms and bar were all lovely.

We stayed at this motel during a cross country move. It was a quick place to lay our heads before continuing the next day. The staff was friendly and gracious enough to stay past the 10pm checkin to accommodate our late arrival. They even let us in after I locked us out. The room, however, was subpar. There were mosquitos everywhere, inside the room. The moment I stepped in, I was swatting mosquitos. I understand nuisance mosquitoes, but not in my motel room. There were cobwebs in every corner and the tub was dirty/stained. The bottom of the shower curtain was pink with mold. The “continental breakfast” that was offered consisted of an empty basket placed in the room. We purchased bug spray, sprayed ourselves and the room, and decided it was only a few hours until we were leaving, so we’d stay. I tucked my legs into the sheets and they were gritty. The bed felt like a pullout mattress. Luckily, I was able to sleep on top of the sheets and the bug spray worked.

I will mention the grounds are pet friendly and decently accommodated with a pond, gazebo, and bar. I hope this helps people be prepared if they choose to stay at Bullwinkles.

I met the love of my life at Bullwinkles and we come and stay at the lodge and relive our first date. We always have a nice experience.

Young man at front desk very nice. Hotel cat was sweet. That would be the highlight of our experience. First room we checked in was never cleaned and was a filthy disgusting mess. Then we moved rooms and it had clean bedding and the jetted tub was clean. The second room had leftover coffee from god knows when on, in and under the microwave as well as the floor. All faucets and mirrors far from clean. In the end we cleaned the room ourselves so we could finally relax before going to the event we were in town for. After driving 6 hours all we wanted to do was relax and they didn’t make it possible. We investigated both rooms and at least we didn’t find any bugs in the rooms. I talked to management about setting things right and got told I would have to go to the booking platform to have it made right even though they took my payment at the lodge. We won’t be staying ever again and they need to train their crew better or start replacing the cleaning team.
