Stopped here on our way home from the in-laws house. I got the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on it and it was delicious!! Corn on the cob was juicy and the mac n cheese was the best i've had from a BBQ restaurant so far! The kids got nuggets and corn dog bites. The corn dog bites looked a little overdone on the outside but they were actually perfect! Husband had the pork steak and unfortunately it was dry. We mentioned it to a passing waitress and she passed it on to the owner. He was so apologetic and kind and gave my husband his money back for it. Very kind people and homey atmosphere. Will definitely be back!!

The food is always good. We really like the catfish and pork steak. I've had the ribs too, and they're great as well.
The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet and the service is good. You order at the register and then go sit down at a table or booth, and they bring your food out to you. The wait is generally pretty short.
Definitely check it out of you're near Poplar Bluff, and don't mind a short drive. Even if you do mind a short drive, go anyway.
They have a decent selection of beer too, and there's usually a game on the big TV.

Five of us stopped on our way through Poplar Bluff based on a Google search for BBQ. Pulling up we weren't so sure about the place but inside surprised us. It is well done, clean with lots of seats, TVs & a gaming room. You order at the counter and drinks (Pepsi products or tea) are self service. We had pulled pork sandwiches, pork nachos, mac 'n cheese, fries & baked beans between us. It was all excellent & the mac 'n cheese was some of the best I've had in a long while. The pork was very good & generous portions. My nephew loved his fries ? The people were very friendly & the restroom was clean. I'd highly recommend J & L. We were impressed! 2️⃣??

Found this place on the way through town. Truly some amazing, fresh food, above and beyond staff and owner. I had the fish and leg quarter with okra and maccaroni. Delicious!!! Stop by for a full belly and a smile on your face!

Took friends to share a meal June 22. Wow! The fish was delicious, pork steak flavorful and tender, sides were great …, oh! and the bbq nachos and buffalo wings were perfect. Facility was clean, noise level was good and staff were so pleasant and helpful. Definitely going back and spreading the word about this restaurant. Can’t wait to go back.
