Four of my friends and I stopped at “A Slice of Pie” for lunch on our way to Kimmswick for the Christmas Cookie Walk. I had eaten there with my daughter, about ten years ago, which is WAY too long. I used to buy their ‘Take and Bake’ Pies at Harter House, but my local store no longer carries them. They’ve always been good. Why did it take me so long to come back? I’m usually traveling with my husband and he prefers BBQ or a burger when we’re traveling. I’m glad I mentioned it Saturday, when we were looking for a place to eat lunch! We all loved it so much that we ate there again the next day, on our way home. Between us, we tried both kinds of Chicken Pot Pie (Traditional and Mushroom), the Chicken Salad on Croissant, the Tomato Soup, and the Bacon Quiche. Each entree was served with two hot rolls. I didn’t have room for the rolls, but those who did said they were good. Dessert? You may have to take it with you, but they’re packaged well. The quiche reheats well in the microwave. Those who tried it said it was the best quiche ever, and ordered it again the second day, so I took a piece home to try. I haven’t tried my Cherry Raspberry yet, but the others said the Coconut Cream (whipped cream) and Custard were wonderful. I did try one of his cinnamon/sugar pie crust cookies. They tasted just like my mama used to make. He said he’s planning to sell those at the Harter House Stores in the Springfield area, so I’ll be looking for them. He’s also bringing a truck to Harter House in Springfield on Eastgate, occasionally, so I’ll be watching their Facebook Page so I can buy a piece of pie without going to Rolla. Good pie crust makes a pie, and luckily, you can find them in the freezer case at Harter House and Price Cutter Stores. Look for “Mickey’s Pie Crust”, ready to put in the oven and bake.
Blackberry crumb pie rules. Came here on a recommendation from my parents who used to live in the area and was not disappointed.

Great pie EXCEPT the price…the price is extremely high for a pie even with today’s standards and inflation. I got one whole pie and a half pie…both together ran me $79 and some change. But hey, it was some great pie lol.

They don't take cards, and using the ATM in their store will get you a service charge from your bank. The pie slices, which are smaller than you'd think, are $8.95 each. Village Inn gives pie away once a week, and even when they charge, you're only paying HALF of what A Slice Of Pie charges. I can guarantee you that I will never come here again.
We were looking for a little dessert as we stopped for the night from our travels. We came across A Slice of Pie. The shop is very cute. The pie is amazing, and the owner is even better! We chatted with the him for a bit. He was friendly and shared the shop's history. If you are looking for a well made dessert, I highly recommend this place. We will be back.

Twenty dollars for two slices of not even mediocre pie save your money and go the grocery store and get a Granny Smith pie cheaper and better, not worth exiting the highway for

Oh my goodness… where do I start? I purchased two pieces of pie yesterday at Food Truck Friday in Jefferson City, MO and just now tasted the banana cream pie. That is the most delicious pie ever, you give my mom a run for her money with that pie crust! Also, I got the turtle cheesecake (forgive me if that’s not the correct name) and I am too full from eating half of the banana cream pie to even dig into the turtle cheesecake. I am so, so excited to try it later this evening! Very good job! I highly recommend giving A Slice of Pie a try. I will definitely be stopping by again. Thanks for the amazingly delicious desserts!
We love this place! Whenever we drive past Rolla, we have to stop here! Delicious pies and super friendly staff!
