Gator bites weren’t cooked all the way, but everything else was good. Just made us not want to eat a lot after noticing that they weren’t cooked all the way. Server was super nice! Definitely under staffed.
Pretty good place! Gumbo was bitter, tasted like the roux was a bit burnt. It looked like brown gravy and had barely any spice to it. However, the blackened chicken sandwich and the gator bites were delicious. Seems to be understaffed currently, but other than the gumbo, it was a good experience.
Excellent! I had the blackened chicken pasta Alfredo. Excellent wait staff. My friends had the crab legs. All you can eat 40 bucks Tuesday. Delicious large crab legs sweet. Highly recommended

A few weeks ago, a friend from work posted pictures of her first attempts at making crawfish etoufee, & shrimp etoufee. In the comments, she mentioned a niece was co-running a Cajun & Creole restaurant in Rolla, called "Red's Grill". Today, we made our 60-mile pilgrimage to give them a try. Not sorry. We ordered gator bites, crawfish po'boy with fries, Cajun corn with cornbread muffin, and chicken & andouille jambalaya.Portions were so generous, we had plenty of leftovers.Everything was so GOOD, we placed a "to go" order for their shrimp & grits, (which we happily waited for), as well as fried pecan pie. We ate the vanilla ice cream with caramel & cinnamon, there, before loading the rest into our van for the drive home. It's a nice country drive from Jeff City, with a worthy destination in Rolla....and now, it's time for pie.Ciao (& chow) for now!P.S. Oh-my-gourd. Julie & I split half the pie, (1/4 portion, each), & as delicious as it was, I know we'll have it WITH that ice cream, next time. ?2nd Post Script: The shrimp & grits didn't disappoint, either. "100" out of 100. ?
I have no words to describe how good this gumbo is.Just go order some and thank me later. The jambalaya is the best I have had outside of Louisiana. There is a ton of gumbo here and my kids chicken and fries were good and plenty too.
What a pleasant addition to the food scene in downtown Rolla. Red's Grill has a simple menu with some classic dishes. We had the Gator Bites, Shrimp and Grits, Red Beans and Rice, and finished off with the fried pecan pie. It was all really nice especially the red beans and rice, but the true enjoyment arrived with the fried pie. 100% honest, I'll be back for the pie!
We went for all you can eat crab legs last night. It was delicious! They were packed when we arrived, but they let us know every time they ran by they knew we were there and that they’d be with us shortly. They apologized for our wait (maybe 10 minutes for service), which did not bother us at all because we had been acknowledged and as I say they were busy. It took us about 30 minutes to get our first place of crab legs, but they gave us very hearty helpings of side dishes while we waited. After our first plate, they kept the crab legs coming. It was good! The service was fantastic and the owner came out and talked to us a little later in the evening and told us a little about his restaurant and how it came to be. It was a great experience! We’ve been one another time and I had the et touffe, which was delicious! Planning on coming back again soon!
Delicious food, reminds me of the seafood, fresh off the boats. Will definitely be back!
Came out to try the AYCE Crab Legs; left happy and full! So happy to have some place local to offer such a feast/treat*Thank you, Reds!
Edited:I hate to give any local business such a low rating but with the food we got, and paying $50 bucks for it, I have to. Gator bites--overcooked and over breaded. Crawfish etoufee--pasty and tasted like flour, very little crawfish (wife left over half uneaten), $20 dish absolutely not a $20 dish. Boudin balls--tasted good, but pork impossible to find, had a good crunch on outside. Side salad--pretty good but small and not worth $5. Wanted this place to be a hit, but unfortunately, it wasn't.Edit: After reviewing, owner contacted me personally. We had 15 minutes of discussion with him explaining why some of our items weren't up to his standards, and really earned our return visit with his forthright attitude. My son and I returned on a Wednesday evening for their AYCE catfish. Absolutely nothing negative to report, in fact, the opposite. Catfish was in large chunks, fried well and tasty. Hush puppies were done well. Side of corn was tasty, had great seasoning and (peppers?), seemed very southern but I don't know. Baked beans were good, with little chunks of meat. Overall, everything had its own twist and was "above the ordinary". Very pleased with what we received.Everyone on staff was working hard and hustling. Our server stopped by many times refilling food and drink, and was very personable. She really seemed interested in making sure our dinner was good.Looking forward to returning many times in the future.

If you love cajun food, you’re gonna love Reds Grill. It has that New Orleans feel, very clean. Workers are friendly, and helpful if u don’t know what to order. If you get a chance try the dirt rice.. hands down my favorite. I will definitely be making a trip back.
I’d give this place a 0 if I could. This is easily the worst food I’ve ever eaten in my life. We ordered a water and a Pepsi, when it came out they both had a film of something on them absolutely grotesque on the top. When our gator bites came out they were burnt and tough. When the main course came out a catfish strip and gumbo it looked good at first. However, when I bit into the catfish strip the entire catfish filet slipped out of the breading. As well as some breading that was still sopping wet from not being fried long enough. To be honest the gumbo was mediocre. Even worse corn bread was so salty and grainy that you could hear it crunch in between your teeth. When I told them how salty it was they said a cook mixed up the sugar and salt. Instead of throwing the mix away they served it. To top it all off there were so many flies in the restaurant and all over our food. I have a video but they won’t let me put it.
Delicious food. Great family environment.
Excellent food. Better than all the restaurants in the area.
A little pricey for a "no frills" establishment. Food was great. Definitely recommend. Service was really nice
