3 of us ordered comfort food, one ordered a pizza. The pizza was shared (we all shared) and it was delicious. The Mac n cheese was great, as were the French fries. The mashed potatoes and gravy were 7/10. The tenderloin was disgusting, dark and super fatty and stringy, inedible. We expressed that everything was quite good but the tenderloin was just a bad slice of meat. She said she would adjust the bill. It was reduced by 3 dollars which is more laughable than insulting, but somewhere in between. The proportions were all overwhelming. Be prepared to eat until you are uncomfortable and still have more than half to take home. Either that or share a plate with your friend. So yeah, it's not cheap, but the plates we had were like 5000 calories. The atmosphere is not charming or particularly comfortable, it feels as calculated as the name of the restaurant. The kitchen lived up to the image though, it's likely the best eatery within a half hour radius. Go ahead and do it. Enjoy the food - don't order the tenderloin.

WOW! What a find in a tiny town! The food was excellent, the service was top notch and our server was super friendly and the atmosphere is homey. We each had omelets and then we shared the half loaded biscuit because you almost have to! Bottom of the biscuit, American fries (so crispy, just like I love them) topped with a sausage patty, scrambled egg, sausage gravy and the top of the biscuit, it was insanely good. We made ourselves sick because we had to try this and we were not mad feeling so full we skipped lunch. We took a slice of blueberry lemon cake, butter pecan cake and banana cream pie to go. The cake is for dessert tonight to celebrate my husband's birthday and the banana cream pie is for him tomorrow. Small town finds are some of the best finds, when we're in town again and we will be, this is where we will go. If you haven't been do not sleep on this spot.

Ordered chicken fried steak, huge but so tough that a steak knife barely cut through it. They took it back, apologized; reordered a chicken sandwich which was tasty. Nice crispy dinner salad. Friendly staff. Drive Hwy 50 fairly frequently...haven't decided if I will try again.

Breakfast is great!!!!!! Traditional Americana style. Restaurant is also known for their large, ornate, and delicious pies and cakes.
I recommend the French toast platter with eggs, bacon and coffee. Very good value for the money.
Building is historic in the inside is a throwback to yesteryear.

We ate here passing through on our way to Jefferson City, and it was the best decision we made. The food was cooked perfectly, even the broccoli was amazing. The waitress was friendly and the cake (even though we didn't get any) looked absolutely Devine. If we're ever in the area again we WILL be coming back.

I'm cheap, but they serve a good amount of food today. Large amounts of cake, good sized salads accompanied the dinner and good amount of dinner.
I ate around and no one I've seen in the Last year or more has offered this quantity of this quality of food. Good cold crispy salad with fresh cool cheese. Hot dinner dish, evenly cooked pasta, generously added meats with moderately spiced food.
Very friendly people able to be gracious and accommodating.
My only wish is for cheaper food. However at least knowing nothing I have extra of everything I ate means I feel more like I got 2 meals of vegies crouton and dinner and the massive cake for my 30 bucks instead of 20 at other places WITH NO leftovers at all. So I say great job guys. Thank you.
We found this place when we were just on a road trip they ha e great food we tried another of things the pie is the best and the cake is delicious and you get huge slices if your in the area I highly recommend this place down home feel great services

I absolutely love that they reopened along highway 50 in rosebud. They are your casual stop for breakfast and lunch. They do offer a dinner menu I have not had it yet. But their lunch menu is pretty great. I'm always a fan of the pork loin sandwich with french fries and then I had a chance to eat their turkey bacon melt with french fries and their Reuben I may eat here a lot but it's good. And you definitely can't say no to one of their cakes I happened to get the red velvet cake the other day and demolished it.

I'm coming back, because that dessert case looked incredible! Let me start with a caveat- my burger was made to order but it was slightly bland. BBQ sauce aside, the meat could use some S&P. Otherwise, top shelf experience! It's a cozy local place and you feel it when you walk in. They have a well-rounded menu and can feed pretty well anyone. I order Ruthie's burger which comes with bacon and an onion ring topped with Bbq and cheddar. My partner ordered the buffalo sandwich. Both were filling and came with ample servings of fries and tots. The potato soup was delicious and should also be ordered. Also, try the fried pickles. They certainly hit the spot.
Our server, B, was eager and willing to put up with our questions. Made some solid recommendations and supported our needs as we ate. Good job, new server. The place was clean and the crew turned tables over quickly to make sure there was room for people when needed.
