This place has a service fee on top of their overpriced menu items. Beware

My first time here and in St. Charles, went with a couple friends and our server was friendly and nice. She made sure we were taken care of.

Thanks Barb (our server)!

I ordered a plain cheeseburger with bacon and a side of fries.
The only reason I rated the food a 4/5 was because I felt my bun was a bit too stiff, just might be me but I like my bun warm but soft. Otherwise, perfect burger.

Food was good but I didn't like the idea of a extra service charge added to the bill and sales tax added on after it. I asked them to remove it and they did, but should sales tax be changed for a service charge? In my opinion, if you want to charge 5% more then raise your prices. That seems more above board to me. If people don't look closely at their bill they would miss it. Sorry but for that reason I might think twice about going back

Imagine a 24-hour diner, that seats 300, where you almost never wait for a spotlessly clean booth, counter or table. Where you can order from a 12-page menue of giant ice cream sundaes, a full page of fried foods, steaks, salads, chicken or fish, 24 hours a day served by 20 or more smiling waiters in spotlessly clean surroundings.

I've just desctibed Ginghams, on hiway 94 in St. Charles, by far the best diner i've ever experienced

For 24 hours a day (they close a few hours Monday night to CLEAN EVERYTHING) Ginghams serves honest, freshly cooked food from a 12 page menu with almost every kind of American food

My favorite page offers multiple fried foods - pickles, green beans, potatoes, etc. Other pages list steak, ham, salads, multiple varieties of chicken, eggs, bacon - every possible diner food.
I've eaten there 30 or 40 times in the last 2 years, and referred Ginghams to over 50 people, with 100% happy feedback

NO, I don't know them, don't work for them, not compensated in any way i just love their example of the American dream.

Where do I begin. We waited an hour for our table, which in theory, is understandable for a Sunday and that wasn’t the worst part. The worst part was when we got to our table, the drinks we ordered, were already disgusting. The orange juice was absolutely awful, it was warm and chunky, and the water was the most flavorful thing we had all day. We ordered our food, which included mozzarella sticks and ranch. The mozzarella sticks tasted like they were sitting out all day. They were undercooked and the cheese was hard. The ranch had no seasoning and was disgusting.
We then proceeded to get the rest of the food, the southern fried chicken meal and the biscuits and gravy. I HAVE NEVER had so much food that had no flavor, was unseasoned, and absolutely atrocious. All of the fried food, the potatoes, the chicken, and the French fries we ordered, tasted like dirty oil with nothing to taste except that. It was awful. The gravy had 0 seasoning, and tasted like chunky milk. Even covering the food in hot sauce did nothing for it. The bacon we got was clumped together with some burned parts and some raw parts which is just nasty.
We never received the pancakes because the waitress forgot to put them in which happens, but they took them off and acted like they did us a favor even though we never received the food.
They told us they took them off and asked how our food was and if we needed boxes which we proceeded to say no and obviously didn’t eat anything, which the waitress saw, but never said anything. After going up to pay, we let the hostess and manager know and the manager acted like we inconvenienced her, rather than taking off some of the food of the $55 ticket that we didn’t eat, she gave us 20% off and acted like taking the pancakes off was part of the discount. We still paid $45 for food we didn’t eat and for bad service.
I’m unsure why this place had such great reviews, but it was disgusting. I wish I could rate it 0 stars.
Also the seasoning on the food that you see, was done by us. Definitely not by the cooks.
