This used to be our favorite place to gather in old St Charles, unfortunately the service was awful and the bartender had a terrible attitude on May 10th 2025. We couldn't tell you about the food because after 20 minutes waiting for service we decided to leave.

Walking down Main St on a beautiful evening and the patio caught our eye. The "dungeon" basement is cool and the bartender was really sweet. Having a fire when it got a bit chilly was the icing on the cake. Will definitely be recommending to friends and coming back for dinner soon.

This place is now "Shay's Creole Smokehouse". The food was delicious, the service was good, atmosphere was laid back and casual. My wife had their reuben sandwich, while I feasted on smoked brisket sandwich. We also had a sampling of their red beans & rice, gumbo, and Etoufèe. All three dishes took me back Nawlin's, where we honeymooned.
