My husband and I have enjoyed visiting Quintessential several times a year for special occasions, especially during the holiday season. We've always appreciated the festive atmosphere and the opportunity to sit by the windows overlooking historic Main Street. Over the past year, however, we have had difficulty dining here. Our first visit attempt on Mother's Day featured a buffet, which we typically do not prefer. On another occasion, the restaurant was unexpectedly closed, and a third attempt was canceled due to a private event. For my birthday, we decided to try again. We called ahead to confirm you would be open and made a reservation online. Upon arrival, there was a small private party and one other table occupied in the main dining room. The bartender told us to seat ourselves. After we placed our order, she returned with plastic utensils, apologizing and explaining that there was no silverware available, except for steak knives. A short time later, she informed us that the crab cakes—my primary reason for selecting your restaurant—were unavailable. At that point, we decided to leave and dine elsewhere. I wanted to share this feedback in case ownership or management is unaware of the issues occurring during service. Quintessential has long been one of our favorite local spots, and I hope to see it return to the level of quality and hospitality it was once known for.
Excellent food. Had the dirty nachos, tamales, and Caesar salad. They did it all and kept it GF.

Once again we ate a Q. This time for a private event. Outstanding customer service, they go above and beyond for private events. The food is really good and we've always had good service. We highly recommend.

Decent bar for night life, but the bouncers at the front are awful people. Literally ruined my night before I even walked in simply because the bouncers have a god complex. Make sure you do exactly what they are thinking at the door or they will insult you.

It’s a fun spot, but every single member of the staff here is absolutely miserable to work here. They hate their customers, and constantly give the worst service out of any bar on Main Street St. Charles. I enjoy this spot for their music and atmosphere, but their staff is absolutely horrible.

I love love love this place. I have had a small gathering in the wine cellar at least three times. The food and service is always on point.

I’ve been to Q’s twice over the past two months and was met both times by incredibly rude male bouncers at the front doors. I have never in my life been to a bar where I was greeted in such a disrespectful manner. Keep in mind, this was my bestfriends 21st birthday and her first experience at the bar. Needless to say, we will not be going back at all and have been told by several people they have experienced the same behavior and have decided the same.
I understand that it can be hard being a bouncer some time and dealing with drunk adults. However, we treated them with nothing but kindness. This establishment needs to really look into who they hire.
If you want a bar with respectful and kind workers, check out little Nashville right across the street.

We went for dinner and ordered the Ribeye. It was delicious! The Top Shelf margarita was great too! Would definitely return.
D was our server. Seated us immediately. She was lovely to talk to and took great care of us. We will be back! Recommend this restaurant!

Loved it
Amazing! Everything about this place is absolutely amazing! From the unusual spicy toasted ravioli sauce and trash can nachos to the Nashville Sliders which were chicken and waffles. Live music was exceptional and drinks were fantastic. Will return for sure. Oh and they have a vape machine with my hard to find geek bar flavor watermelon! Try the candied jalapenos!!!!!!!
The food was good. But very limited buffet (especially for Mother’s Day brunch buffet). The advertisement for brunch is much more extensive than reality. Several chafing dishes were empty. No signs indicating entree names.
Quite disappointing.
So I hit up The Q last night with three of my buddies. We’re bowling, drinking, vibing — having a solid night. Paid my $5 cover like everyone else. Then, out of absolutely nowhere, some clown of a bouncer strolls up to me talking about ‘there’s a complaint, you need to leave.’ No details, no explanation, no chance to even ask what the hell he’s talking about. I’ve never been kicked out of a bar in my life because — shocker — I wasn’t doing a damn thing wrong.
I asked him what the complaint was, who made it, and if I could speak to a manager like any normal person would. This dude straight up ignored me like I didn’t exist, then put his hands on me and shoved me out. Mind you — I’m not some loud, aggressive guy. I wasn’t causing problems. But apparently at The Q, all it takes to get a guy kicked out is for some girl to whisper something to bouncer, and boom — you’re out, no questions asked.
It’s obvious this place only caters to women. If I made some baseless complaint about a girl, you think they’d toss her out? Not a chance. It’s sexist garbage. And don’t get me started on the bouncer — dude could barely string a sentence together. It was like trying to argue with a brick wall. What a joke.
This place is trash. 1 out of 5 stars. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with self-respect. If you’re a guy, don’t waste your time or money — unless you like being treated like you don’t matter
The security at front door 04/19/25 take their job way too seriously grabbed me by my arm walking back in from smoking after I already paid and told me to wait in line waited in line got back to the door and they said I was kicked out when my card was still open at bar understood I had to wait in line but still no reason to put your hands on someone and also take their money f this place for real
