I just left Route 66 Diner, and let me tell you, it’s everything you want in a classic diner—excellent food, a nice environment, and friendly service. But there’s a hidden gem that takes this place to the next level: the Patty Melt.
Some might call her a line cook, others a line chef, but I call her the Patty Melt Queen. If you’re a fan of the patty melt, this is your stop. The onions are cooked to perfection—none of that pre-prepared stuff here. Fresh-cut onions, perfectly caramelized. The bread is toasted just right, and the patty and cheese blend together in a way that makes this ensemble a masterpiece.
It's like you’ve died and gone to patty melt heaven, or simply met a true master of the craft. If you're passing through, do yourself a favor and make a stop at Route 66 Diner. You won't regret it!

Ordered meals Togo. The waitress was great but sometimes overwhelmed although she was more or less keeping up . The cook shorted us a mashed potato with gravy, but again if the waitress wasn’t overwhelmed she would have caught that …. She did catch that it was a Togo and not dine in , I think that’s what caught the cook off guard and punished us by not including the potato’s . The food was tasty . I do recommend this place for the food .

Interesting place. Interesting atmosphere. There were two waitress. The one we had was overwhelmed. The second waitress was in and out of the kitchen, along with two other people. The place needed a good cleaning and a new manager.

We absolutely loved this diner! We met the owner and his story is one of the greatest American Dream stories I've heard in a while. The preservation of the Route 66 is a treasure of our American history, and he's showcasing it with style. Stay tuned for his Drive In movie screen going up soon on the outside of the restaurant!! I highly recommend the meatloaf sandwich and the BBQ burger!!

I stop here several times during the spring and summer with large tour groups. The food is always wonderful. The staff does an incredible job as they handle a large rush of folks. Highly recommend!!!’

Took about 15 minutes to get attended then took 45 minutes to get a simple breakfast. Coffee there is watered down food is okay nothing special.Place needs a remodel everything was falling apart. Definitely going to IHop next time for the same price.
