Great place to sip some wine or your favorite cocktail/beer with an amazing view of the river. The Grand Opening last night was a ton of fun! This place will keep getting better and better as the new owners settle in and make it their own.

My wife and I were looking forward to a relaxed lunch at the Riverhouse. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, salad, and sandwich. We got the appetizer within a reasonable amount of time. After waiting an hour for the rest of the meal, I went to the waitress and asked about our sandwich and salad. She had not put the order in. The sandwich was just ok. My wife's salad was good, but by then, we were upset. So much for a relaxing lunch. I should give one star. I won't return.

Best views of the river in Cape Girardeau! Great food selection, the spinach salad with chicken, chicken bacon ranch pizza, and Mississippi mojo sandwich were all amazing flavors! The staff were kind and all stopped by our table to check in.

I am not usually one to write reviews but our experience has been bothering me since we went. We went to River House on a Sunday. It was not busy when we arrived. There was plenty of staff, very young staff. When asked questions, they never knew the answers. We also asked for a sip of a craft beer, and they said no. That’s usually not what you expect to hear at a local “winery”. To us the customer service wasn’t the greatest.
Atmosphere- We sat inside due to the heat. They have a door that they use to wait on the outside tables. The staff walked through that door about every five seconds and it SLAMMMS shut. My husband and I couldn’t enjoy a conversation without a loud bang every few seconds. It was excessive and really disrupted the atmosphere and experience.
The food tasted fine. From the time we ordered to we received our food, was an hour and fifteen minutes!!!! Add being hungry, and a slamming door every five minutes- we weren’t too happy. Historically I order their panini every time I go, and this time it was different. It was a small toasted sandwich, not on panini bread, it was cold, and the cheese wasn’t melted.
We likely will not be back. Close friends had similar experiences.
This was my absolute worst restaurant experience in my life. I wouldn’t return if it was the last place on earth. I’ve never waited 2 and half hours for a sandwich. Had to beg for refills, a menu, and silverware. Bunch of kids who had no idea what are they doing. No adult leadership whatsoever. For the two hours I waited for food there were at least 5-7 other customers complaining to management about their similar experiences.

Didn't bother to finish my red wine flight. Disappointing selection. Indifferent staff. Crayfish dip probably would have been good if they actually warmed it through. Just seemed like unmelted cheese slung on top of 3 raw mushrooms. I was distracted by the dog barking at the next table. Also wondered if the pail they brought water for the dog would also be used later to bring beer. Didn't see anything distinguishing between the buckets.Flight selected with recommendations from waiter. Others on list I already knew I didn't care for.

The place had a beautiful view of the river, lovely outdoor seating, and nice laid back environment. If you're looking for wine and scenery this may be your place. If you are looking for a good food experience, I would pass on this one. Food was over priced for the quality. Nothing will ever convince me the pizza was not a store bought frozen pizza and the charcuterie board was a very low quality product. When staff asked about our our experience they were not open to any negative feedback. So much so that one staff member rolled her eyes. We won't be going back.

Me & my friend went Saturday. Once we walked in we was ignored, waited for 5+ minutes to be seated even though atleast 3 people walked by & seen us. They made us feel unwelcomed so we decided to leave. I been there once over a year ago with great service, but this time was absolutely horrible & felt very racist! I'll never go back
