Just south of Sam Baker State Park and north of MO-34 on MO-143 is Wally B's. I haven't samples the steaks yet, but the seafood dishes are seasoned excellently and the service is great.
The dining area is divided into several areas, so you can eat quietly or near the bar, or if weather allows, even outdoors on the patio.
This is a great place to visit and eat, and is easily accessible and a short drive from Piedmont, Fredericktown, and Poplar Bluff.

Ozark Hills Adventures
Last I was here was 3 years ago. The food and service was great. But I thought it was a little dark inside. By dark, I mean not very much light. That has all changed. Wally B's has had a complete inside and outside face-lift. A beautiful outside sitting area with a stage. There is even a small convenience store in the front of the building. The food and the service is top notch. I will be back.

I enjoyed the stuffed catfish special and it was delicious! The owner was present, friendly and helpful. They had a band and a nice outside area. Strongly recommend if in the area or for a fun road trip.

Second time eating here. Food was delicious! We were eating here to celebrate, a day early , our 52nd anniversary, August 31st, 2025. There were 2 waiters/waitresses..…a young man and a young lady. We had the young man.There were 3 sitting areas with 1 being in the bar area which we were not sitting.. Twice my husband let him know we were seated. He waited on 2 tables that came in after us and sat in the bar area before he finally came to wait on us. Not once did he check on us while we ate. We had to ask the young lady for tea refills. After we finished eating had to again ask the young lady for takeout box. Sat there for about 15 minutes and finally asked the young lady for our ticket. Bless her heart…she was so busy!! She’s a very hardworking young lady and we appreciated her taking care of us. He did bring us our ticket. Will definitely go back, ..best place we’ve found around here (we moved here from Louisiana) for seafood and catfish. Fingers crossed we won’t have the same waiter. Regardless, the food is delicious!!!
This restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. Great crab cakes and the fried and grilled shrimp were fresh and hot. I would recommend this close to. Sam A Baker campground.
