The staff were very hospitable, friendly and generous they are thoughtful that they offered us new fresh plates to share the main courses after our appetizers, truly an exceptional dining experience, it is hard to find restaurants of such quality!

Jalea is a wonderful restaurant for anyone who loves Peruvian cuisine with a modern twist or would like to try something new. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! Especially recommend the ceviche and braised chicken. The portions were generous. The service was warm, kind, and attentive with a family touch. The owners even surprised us with dulce de leche cookies as a complimentary dessert, which was such a lovely touch! I appreciated cozy and welcoming atmosphere with soft music that never interrupted our conversation. It felt like being invited to someone’s home for dinner. Reservations were easy to make online, and getting a table was no problem at all. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!

Wow. 5 stars from start to finish. The staff are super friendly and always available.
The menu is small, and the price is a little on the high side. But the food is absolutely delicious, and the portions are generous.
I highly recommend the chicha morada and the paella.
Nice music, nice atmosphere, great dinner!

Awesome Peruvian restaurant with you food you can't find anywhere else

The plantain chips and potato croquettes were delicious starters. As a group, we tried all 3 of the platos fuertes and you really can't go wrong with any of them. All the dishes were super flavorful and plenty of food to go around. Even the cocktails were super tasty, with Peruvian ingredients, like Inca Cola (Which is wonderful if you've never had it before).

Cannot recommend enough, especially to those who want to break out of their comfort zone and try something new.

This restaurant is truly a hidden gem! The food was absolutely amazing — full of flavor, freshness, and authenticity. I ordered the seafood paella, which was specially prepared by the owner himself. I was super excited, and it did not disappoint. One bite took me straight back to Barcelona — slightly different, of course, but the flavors were a solid 10/10.

Their chicha (Peruvian version of horchata) was another highlight. Honestly, it was better than anything I've had at other Peruvian spots — including some well-known ones in Brooklyn. Refreshing, not overly sweet, and so addictive that I couldn’t stop drinking it!

There was a slight mishap with our order which caused a delay, but the owner personally brought over complimentary appetizers to make up for it. That level of care and hospitality really stood out.

Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic, delicious Peruvian cuisine with top-notch service. I'll definitely be coming back!
