The third stop in our 2024 eclipse trip. A quick search brought us to Novellus. The wife likes her mimosas, so that's a part of the search string when looking for a brunch place. We ordered the Bottomless mimosas and Bourbon for breakfast for drinks. Then Seafood Benedict and the Riverside Omelette with a side of gravy for entrees. Jackie (Jacks), our server, was awesome and timely. The flavors and portions were great. Novellus has been added to the list of restaurants to return in the future.

We never had a chance to even try anything here so can’t really even leave a rating. The person who sat us was apparently our server as well. She never indicated she was our server, didn’t find that out she was supposed to be taking care of us until I was leaving. I asked for a drink menu to get a drink while I waited for my other guests to arrive. I then sat at our table for 20 minutes without ever ordering a thing before I finally just got up and left. As I was leaving another server stated who was supposed to be taking care of our table. Our server didn’t seem to mind that I was leaving. They didn’t seem that busy so not sure why I couldn’t even order a drink while I waited. It’s a shame, we have been wanting to try this place for a while now.

⭐️? We did not have a good experience. Owner was rude / very inhospitable! . We will most definitely not return…. NOT A PLACE FOR A GROUP ! Not welcomed WHAT SO EVER … under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES if your group is over 6 PPL ! Good advice READ ALL OF THE REVIEWS PRIOR TO “MAKING RESERVATIONS “ then decide !Kid-friendliness: NOT KID FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE!

Thoroughly enjoyed Easter Sunday with my brother and sister in law. Our server Abby C deserves a shout out for such wonderful service. She even followed us outside after our breakfast as we wanted to allow for other seating and we wanted to visit a bit longer. Thank you Novellus for the wonderful eggs Benedict, the mimosa which I asked to be surprised and you did not disappoint. Thank you again Abby C

view of Novellus Restaurant and Whiskey Bar in St. Charles** During a recent stay at Ameristar Casino in St. Charles, my wife and I found ourselves searching for a breakfast spot on checkout day. A quick search on TikTok led us to Novellus Restaurant and Whiskey Bar, tucked away in old St. Charles, a place that masterfully preserves the quaint, old-world charm and beauty of its surroundings. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted with warm smiles, setting a welcoming tone for our meal. The menu offered a variety of enticing options, and after some deliberation, we decided on the following dishes: Southern Tomato Gravy, Eggs Benedict with Home Fries, Breakfast Tacos with fresh Corn Tortillas and Tomatillo Sauce, and the Riverside Omelette. As a chef, I have a particular interest in how classic dishes are executed, and the Eggs Benedict at Novellus did not disappoint. The Hollandaise sauce was a testament to the chef's skill, striking the perfect balance of flavor and texture. It transported me back to my culinary benchmarks for this dish. The Southern Tomato Gravy was a delightful surprise, evoking memories of my grandfather's cooking back in the south. It's a rare find on modern menus and was executed with a nostalgic precision that resonated with me deeply. The Breakfast Tacos, wrapped in freshly made corn tortillas, accompanied by a vibrant tomatillo sauce, offered a fresh, flavorful start to the day. Meanwhile, the Riverside Omelette was a testament to the kitchen's ability to produce well-thought-out dishes that cater to diverse palates. The service at Novellus matched the quality of the food--professional, attentive, and seamless. It's clear that both the kitchen and the service teams are well-coordinated, ensuring that each guest's experience is memorable. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Novellus to anyone looking for a meal that is not just served but thoughtfully presented. Whether you're a local or a visitor to St. Charles, Novellus Restaurant and Whiskey Bar promises not just a meal, but an experience that's likely to bring you back. We certainly plan to return.

I invited my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and daughter-in-law to lunch at Novellus. We enjoyed the relaxing environment. The music was at the right volume for all to hear each other. The wait staff attentively kept our drinks full. Each of us ordered a different entree, and even with the diverse palates, all ended the meal saying they enjoyed it. Oh, and by the way, the restrooms are clean and decorated. Very pleased with the experience.

Really enjoyed a brunch with the girls here. Everyone really enjoyed their food and there was a nice selection for everyone. Our server Chloe was absolutely fantastic and somehow remembered our entire order perfectly without writing it down. Very impressive! Nice cocktail selection as well. And of course the "novel" ambiance was a nice change to your average restaurant decor.
