The food is worthy of 5 stars and would be my favorite place only IF:
*they were actually open during their business hours. It is such a hassle to drive there to only find they are not actually open.
*they would actually update the website to reflect if they are open or closed. There are also items on the menu they don't even serve. Not so professional
The food and the environment is amazing only if you get lucky to see the doors open.
I really hope to see them improve because I really like this place.

I really want to like this place because they have a unique selection of healthy food and fresh juice options.
I ordered and waited at least 30 minutes for my food and drink.
Im pretty sure they forgot about me because I saw others who came in after being served.
My drink was made and sitting behind the bar for quite a while.
No one brought it to me.
When I finally inquired on my food, I received it luke warm like it had been sitting for some time.
Big reason of why I dont like tipping before I receive service which they ask you to do here.
And I tipped well.
Apparently for nothing.
I even told the cashier it was my first time there and I was happy to find the place.
Multiple employees walked by my empty table while serving others and even making eye contact.
No one asked if I needed anything.
I observed them have time to change the music ,chat with co-workers and do other things completely unrelated to serving waiting customers.
$30 + tip is a pretty big ask for a cup of pasta and a juice when I have to get it myself after being ignored.
Disappointed but will give it one more try before I rule it out.

Lovely vegan restaurant with an owner who really gets it. Aaron is so knowledgeable, caring, and passionate. You can practically feel the love in each dish.
The restaurant is super clean and has a calming, zen vibe. The menu is creative and everything is absolutely delicious. This was THE BEST matcha latte I've ever had. Aaron listened to my food sensitivity issues, took me seriously, and knew what to do before I even asked. Amazing. Hubs had the breakfast burrito bowl and he hasn't stopped talking about it since.
We found a the door locked when we arrived but lucky for us he opened up just as we were going to leave. Aaron told me their hours can so unusual right now. I did not ask why, but I recommend that you call ahead to make sure he's open.
Amazing, healthy, CLEAN food in St. Charles County! NO ONE else is doing this outside the City. What a find.

today me and a few customers experienced the store sign saying closed but the door and lights on. lately they never pickup the phone either. keep missing them but love the food and drink i have had so far. hope to be back.
Waited 20min for a cold brew coffee and there were only 3 other people in there. Got my cold brew and it was hot. Asked the guy working and he said some people like their cold brew hot. Would not go back
I’ve had good experiences in the past & have been a big fan of this place but unfortunately had a rough situation yesterday. My husband & I spent $300 for us both to do a standard 3-day juice cleanse here & were excited to start. We cleaned up the pantry & planned around doing this cleanse. The day before we got a confirmation email reminding us our pick up time & saying it would be ready.
We showed up at 3pm yesterday, which was a Sunday (our scheduled time to pick up the juices) & they had the closed sign up & door locked. No explanation posted online or in sight. Their hours showed they were supposed to be open another 2 hours & we could see employees inside cleaning up & talking on the phone laughing & talking. The man employee was behind the counter with no shirt on, which I found unsanitary considering his body hair was exposed to the equipment & prep stations. We tried to get their attention & called a few times but were completely ignored. We waited about 15 minutes hoping to get help, even leaving a message on voicemail.
I called again this morning with no one picking up but Its been over 24 hours now and still have not been contacted. We’ve had to go through a whole headache situation through Toast (the third party company they use for their online orders) to cancel the order & get our money back just to find out the only way to get it is through Heartwood itself.
I just can’t believe a company would be this unprofessional & not try to at least explain or reschedule the order, which I could have been understanding about, but completely ignoring the situation is not okay. I’m disappointed because it’s a vegan & environmentally conscious place, which is rare to find, but I don’t want to support a business ran like this.
I entered the restaurant and I was greeted by the barista, but that was all, she didn’t ask me for my order. I waited a few more minutes, still, she didn’t ask me for my order, she made a few drinks and left the counter to deliver the drinks. The cook from the back came up to the counter and I asked if he could take my order. He took my order which was a sandwich and a cup of soup to go. He said he’ll bring my order to the table. He didn’t ask me for payment or anything. I waited at the table for 20 minutes for a sandwich and a bowl of soup, still not ready. I noticed a gentleman who got there after me who received his order before me. At this point I’m frustrated, I went up to the counter and told the barista that I wanted to cancel my order, she replied “would you like a refund” I said the cook didn’t ask for my payment. She stated they were short handed and they were busy. From my point of view they were not busy. This is a small establishment and many of the patrons already had their food. I did not have a good experience here as I was in search of a healthy food restaurant. I was very disappointed. I will not be returning and will not ever recommend this place.
I have tried Heartwood a few times over a two week period, attempting to give them a fair chance. Each time I placed an online order, only to get a call back or to find out that what I ordered they were out. I also tried several menu items which were not bad in taste, but overpriced with a small portion. The grill cheese that I ordered was $10. It was small, on hard dry bread, and the vegan cheese did not taste that good.
Each time I went in to pick up my food I was not greeted by a friendly person.

I asked for a pack of sugar and blonde lady working looked at me like I grew three heads and I gave her the most complex long division problem. She looked like that meme actually. A pack of sugar is real lady sheesh
Best meal out I have had in a long time!! 10/10

The music selection the owners have chosen is lame. Too much atmospheric spacey music. Needs to be more upbeat But the atmosphere is great
