We’ve been to Salt and Smoke countless times over the years, and it’s normally a guaranteed stop anytime we’re driving through St. Louis when they’re open. Today was the first time we walked away disappointed. The rolls came out burnt, and the brisket we ordered “fatty” was surprisingly tough and stringy, honestly closer to roast beef in taste and texture than brisket.
This was our first visit to this particular location, so maybe that played a part. Needless to say, we’re not swearing off Salt and Smoke, we love the place, but we were definitely shocked by today’s experience.

Started as a last minute stop and ended up as my favorite stop of the night. Loved the atmosphere, reminiscent of a holiday hallmark movie, and had a memorable night primarily due to the addicting food and great selection of sauces, as well as the swift and welcoming service of Paul and the rest of the staff. I’m not much of a BBQ guy but if I end up stopping by this side of town again then this will definitely be my first stop.

OMG I’m a flexatarian, I only eat meat when I travel, and this place had us coming back for lunch the next day! If you’re looking to give your taste buds a gift, then come here share plates so you can try everything!!
Visited for the Pumpkin Glow and was immediately seated next to fire. Our server was Jackson and he did a great job. I also had a mezcal margarita that the manager, Fernando, made for me. The fries were wonderful and well back for the brisket sandwich. Great experience, highly recommend!

The food was amazing! The baked beans, Mac & cheese, and Beef fat fries were delicious! The BLT was great and so were the ribs! The food came out very fast and the service was great! Food prices are pretty reasonable. It was a bit loud due to poor acoustics. . . A bit hard to carry on a conversation.

We had fast service and the food was delicious. The (sweet) wings, the brisket, pulled port, and the brisket grilled cheese was all so good! Excellent!! Also the service was great! We are from out of town but I would LOVE to eat here again. YUM!
