I ordered the Fatty B calzone and the Buffalo Chicken bites. Both of which were underwhelming.
I will say that the ranch dressing was delicious and is probably why this wasn't a 2-star review. However, the service (contactless delivery, no knock, and no plastic cutlery was included which was requested because it's a calzone.
The Buffalo Chicken bites didn't taste like they had buffalo sauce or chicken in them but were rather bland, undercooked hushpuppies. I wish I was joking but I'm not. Those things were a 1 star.
The Fatty B calzone was undercooked as well. The mozzarella cheese was melted-ish. You know when the cheese was shredded and melted but you can still clearly see it was shredded? Yeah, that's what happened! You expect for a calzone to be cheesy and melty but it simply wasn't. The other ingredients were really good. The onions seemed fresh and were flavorful! The sauce was decent but wasn't anything to write home about.
I think I'll just leave the sauce on the side and try somewhere else.

I have no words. I ordered two calzones to try, because quite frankly they all looked good. I decided to go with the Cock-A-Doodle and the Don Corlezone. Both were phenomenal! The flavor profiles were balanced and deep without salt overload. The dough was light but just dense enough to hold everything together for dipping. The sauces were on point and complimented each calzone respectively without masking the their flavors. I highly recommend Sauce On The Side and hope your experience is as good as mine! Cheers.

I specifically came after hearing about monthly special, the Don Corlezone. Who can resist Gioia’s hot salami? Not me! If it’s coming in a calzone then I’m gonna need to try it out! It was a great lunch and there’s not many places you can get a fountain Ski on this side of the river. Win win in my book!

This is the second location where I've ordered a calzone with no cheese, and it comes with a ton of it. It's even marked on the box in all capital letters 'NO CHEESE!' yet this location and Cottleville both missed it. 🤷
