Best BBQ I've found in St. Louis so far. Shayquitos are the bomb. Huge portions. I can't say enough about this place. Kudos Shay.
Today was our first visit. We were looking for something new. I had the Reuben with hush puppies, and my husband had the brisket with mac and cheese and the beans.
We dined on the outside patio, it is so beautiful! Such an amazing setting. We finished our meal with the smoked cheesecake topped with cherry amaretto, I highly recommend. My spouse had the burnt ends, said they were by far the best he has had here in Missouri.
The food was really good. Pastrami had an amazing smoke flavor. The hush puppies reminded me of the ones we used to get at our favorite BBQ in Alabama.
The service was great. Will definitely be going back.
Terrific place with huge beers selection and tasty tasty food !!! Friendly as can be in there. We really enjoy Seamus and his crew…go see Dave at the bar upstairs then check out the downstairs lounge.
Casual dining, with delicious food. We ate there for the first time a few days ago. I had the Shrimp and Brisket Etoufee and it was great. Can’t wait to go back to try other dishes. Also loved sitting on the patio with a view of the Millstream. Do recommend.
The catfish and strawberry crunch cheesecake specials were amazing! Great staff, wonderful beer selection, and don't miss out on the brisket with the pit beans!
Wife & I met another couple for a weekday lunch. Shay's has a small interior dining space in a building shared by another restaurant business, with additional outdoor patio seating in an adjacent shaded garden space. Our indoor table service was excellent, and we were allowed to linger & chat with minimal interruption. The spiciness of my Cajun choices (Hazel's Andouille Red Beans & Rice, Cathy’s Crawdaddy and Andouille Gumbo) was just enough tIo burn my lips, but the dishes were otherwise unremarkable. Pulled Pork Sammie & Landry’s Shrimp & Brisket Etouffee were each OK at best for others in our party. Based primarily on food quality, we'd be unlikely to return.
The food was absolutely delicious. Some of the best BBQ in St. Charles. Highly recommend the mac and cheese, beans, and brisket. Good prices and a nice patio.
This place is nestled in an adorable nook of old downtown St. Charles. We found it based on other great reviews while traveling back from TN. The patio is private and shady and the smells from the smoker were mouth watering. We wanted to try a bit of everything and we basically did. The Cajun Cuban was absolutely delicious with the smoked meats and creole mustard. My husband had the shrimp and brisket etouffee, which again was made even better with the smoked meat. Daughter had the Stacey's Wrap--a delicious pastrami wrap with horseradish aioli. Sides tried-baked beans (these were amazing, smoked with burnt ends dripping into them while they cooked) mac and cheese, hushpuppies and fried okra. All were on point. Ended with the smoked cheesecake with cherry compote--delicious, but we did not pick up on any smoked flavor here. No complaints on this, but I was expecting a nuanced flavor. I would definitely go back.
I got the lucky bay leaf in my Cathy’s gumbo. So delicious! My fiancé said it was the best Cuban he’s ever had.
Says smokehouse. Smelled the smoke so we walked in for a meal. What we were served was a lot of fatty pork that was pressure cooked for 30 minutes at best. No smoke, definitely not slow cooked for 18 hours like the menu says. Hard avoid. Not as advertised.

Food was good.
Liked the beer stine collection along the top of the wall
The staff here was absolutely rude. My husband, my dad, and I came here for a nice Saturday drink, but the flustered waitress looked at us sitting and said, “I’ll get to you when I get to you,” which already rubbed us the wrong way. So, I decided to go to the bar and grab a drink. When I opened the door, a male server rushed in front of me, cutting me off. I immediately went back to my table and told my family that we were leaving and would spend our money elsewhere. To prove it wasn’t just us, the table that took our table after we got up said they felt the same way about the atmosphere—rude and unwelcoming. Do better.
Loved everything about the restaurant. Great service, awesome food and great atmosphere.
1st time here. Most comfortable outdoor patio. Service was great, the food was excellent. Everything tasted like it was homemade. Fabulous Cuban sandwich and pastrami. The bread pudding and cheesecake couldn't have been any better. Is now one of my favorite and frequent go to's.
Awesome experience. Food was great and service also great! Definitely will be back
