We have been to Coopers Hawk many times and today I order my favorite dish, their jambalaya. The jambalaya was terrible, it was nothing like it is normally. Today, the jambalaya had hardly any liquid/sauce and was just lacking in flavor. It was like I order a plate of rice with chicken and shrimp topping. A huge disappointment, they used to have a pretty good jambalaya, now it wouldn’t be considered a jambalaya. Jambalaya is supposed to be like a stew, a thickened sauce with rice and seafood and chicken. Today, it was really bad!

Keep trying to have a good experience and we come back because of the name I guess and we are consistently disappointed. When you order the most expensive meal on the menu and ask it to be cooked a certain way and they insist they do and it isn't even close then why have we gone back? Slow service, average at best and not as ordered food at top prices on top of loud ambiance just doesn't make it worth it. There are better places for my money in town so this will be our last visit.

We are wine club member. We love their wine and food. It doesn't matter what you pick, everything is good. But my favorites are the braised short rib, Brussel Sprout, Drunken Shrimp, Chicken Madera, and Pistachio Crusted Grouper, any of the surf and turf... Oh, get the Wasabi mashed potatoes for side, you won't be disappointed.

I've been to both locations more than once. Came in today to celebrate my daughter's bday and my own...never a disappointment! Food, wine, service...all A+! Jaylin (sp) was our server and she did an EXCELLENT job!! Recommend the shrimp appetizer, brussel sprouts, and short ribs. Happy hour is good as well.
See you all next time 😀!

A great place all the way around. Food is phenomenal and so is the selection. Rae was extremely friendly and a great person to work the front end of the restaurant.

Pappy's Smokehouse in St. Louis is a barbecue lover's delight, delivering mouthwatering meats that make it worth the visit, even during the chaotic lunch rush. We stopped by during peak hours, and the line was daunting—stretching out the door and moving slowly. However, opting for the to-go line was a smart move, as it was noticeably shorter than the dine-in queue, getting us our food faster.

The food itself? Absolutely stellar. The meats were the star of the show—tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor that hits all the right spots. Every bite was a reminder of why Pappy's has such a strong reputation. We took our order to go, and even eating out of containers didn’t diminish the experience—the quality held up beautifully.

Overall, the long wait was a small price to pay for barbecue this good. If you’re in St. Louis and craving authentic, delicious BBQ, Pappy’s is a must-visit. Just plan for the rush or go for takeout to save some time!

I don't understand the raves this place gets, quite frankly. I've eaten at both locations multiple times and I'm always underwhelmed, although Town & Country is much better. At St. Peters you get a beautiful atmosphere but very average food for the price point. The service, however, is always excellent.

My wife and I came on our 7 year wedding anniversary - we have gone to the town and country location regularly and have had nothing but great experience. We both ordered the filet mignon cooked medium. When we cut into it my steak was well done, and my wife’s was raw. We were pretty shocked and disappointed. BOTH steaks were cooked wrong? Not a great sign. A manager came over - agreed they were not cooked properly - and put in for new steaks. The new ones come out, my wife cuts into hers - RAW again. Mine was closer to medium, still a little on the medium-raw side but it was edible so I ate it. A second manager came over and again, agreed the steak shouldn’t have looked like that. He did offer to make a new dish. At this point, my wife’s appetite was gone as well as her hope for a decent meal. We wanted steak, and the fact 3 steaks came out cooked incorrectly was alarming. They comped my meal but my wife left without eating anything. We didn’t get any special anniversary dessert or anything to try to lighten up the disappointment. We still cannot fathom how this happened but it ruined the one special night we had to get away, kids free, to celebrate a major milestone. Unfortunately, we will never be back.
