I genuinely, TRULY wanted to love this place because of all the hype surrounded by it's legendary fried chicken.Unfortunately, it missed the mark for me.I visited I'm not sure if it was the cook that night or the fact that I came in on a crowded Saturday night back in January. The presentation of the chicken looked fantastic. But looks were deceptive. It was crispy. Juicy, in fact! The problem was it only tasted like salt. It's as if the brine it was marinated in had nothing but salt. The breading, too, only tasted like salt. No spice at all that I could detect. Maybe a hint of black pepper, but it was very slight. The green beans were ultra soggy and overcooked with an unpleasant aftertaste. The slaw was extremely good though! The burger was cooked like a hockey puck, sadly. Very stiff and rubbery. The onion rings were also slightly undercooked in the middle.Again, I get the hype! This place has been around for a long time entertaining folks for years. I might come back again and try, but for now, I'll leave it up to y'all to decide! Not delicious.

It was okay, shared the table with a couple, asked about the clams, he said he gets them all the time. I tried them, and kept tasting them afterwards, burping. I ended up getting very sick about 1/2 hour later. I hope he didn't get sick too
Hands down best chicken I've had since my grandma passed away. They get busy but that's for a reason. The fried mushrooms with horseradish is the bomb.

Good food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. If a crowd you might be asked to share a long table with others.

My kids took me here last night; 11 yrs in st peters and I've not been before. Great little dive. Super casual. Service was friendly, prices super reasonable, and the food was good. If you ask, they have a list of gf and non gluten free menu items so you can make informed choices. I'm gluten intolerant not celiac so i didn't inquire regarding cross contamination. i got a juicy grilled pork chop, really good baked beans, and broccoli cauli salad: $8.95. Kids got catfish and a burger, the Slick Willy. i was told we lucked out by being able to walk in and sit down - they do get busy busy. There were some outdoor tables as well if the weather is pleasant.

This was my first time here. I really liked the fried chicken. For my sides, I picked mashed potatoes and gravy and cole slaw. It was 2pm and the place was packed. I would definitely eat here again. I don't live close to St. Peters, but it was worth the drive. I'm glad I was told to try this place.
The place was a nice place! We enjoyed ourselves. We went in with a party of 8 at around noon. Seating took just about 15 minutes. Our server was EXCELLENT! Thanks, Mariah! The food had very decent portions. I felt things were a bit spicier than I prefer, but I am a spice wimp!! Everyone else loved it! So, the majority rules. The decor is pretty cool, too! I enjoyed looking at the history!
