Let me say the best barbecue I’ve had since Memphis, Tennessee. I almost slapped my mama…. But really amazing!!!!

When I ordered this old man was rude and impatient when taking my order and the food was served cold.

This tucked away BBQ is hiding in plain sight right off Mid Rivers Mall Drive on the North side of I70. The food is excellent and you will not be disappointed. If you’re a corn bread person you will be amazed at the recipe. The turkey has an awesome flavor with a little zing to it. The ribs were cooked to perfection with a great taste. Give them a try!

Brian was super nice. I mentioned I was a first timer and he hooked it up with a rib and samples of turkey and brisket. Very delicious all around and excellent quality. Missed out on burnt ends so come early.

A friend and I decided to try Pappy’s for lunch, and we were not impressed. The staff were very friendly/attentive, and it has a nice comfortable atmosphere. That’s where the two stars come from.
The food was surprisingly bland, so unimpressive. We had burnt ends and brisket platters. The sides were okay, nothing special though. The burnt ends were poor man burnt ends, basically pot roast meat (chuck roast). If it was indeed made from brisket (which true burnt ends are made of), it was the saddest brisket I’ve ever seen, but it was definitely not brisket. A decent sized portion, but very little flavor. The sauces on the table, lots of salt and pepper helped slightly. The brisket was the most bland, unseasoned brisket I’ve ever had. It was like sad, prepackaged lunch meat. No bark on the edges, and just……..flavorless.
The best thing I can say about this place is that we weren’t hungry when we left. But plain rice cakes are just about as tasty as the food we had. If you’re looking to make a donation in exchange for flavorless food, go here. It was our first and definitely last time going here.

Easy, efficient line movement. Clean space to eat with paper towels, sauce, and towelettes stocked. We had the pork sandwich with potato salad and fire and ice pickles. I put the pickled on my sandwich. We also had a plate with 3 meats and cornbread and beans. Every item was so delicious! Every employee moves around cleaning up and asking what the patrons need. We will absolutely be back, often.

The best Ribs we've ever had - excellent service - can't wait to come back - easy on-and-off the highway - sides were wonderful also.

I gave Pappy’s a four star because we wanted to order this sampler. But the BBQ restaurant was out of smoked chicken and ribs. It was only 6pm. I did get the brisket and it was delicious! Huge portion and my sides were spot on. I gave the atmosphere a two because of the acoustics. Everyone was talking and there was an echo thing that made talking hard. Overall a great experience.

Great food great service 10/10
Brisket is awful. It seems like it was overcooked in an oven or something, as it's very rubbery and grey. Totally flavorless.
Ribs aren't much better, but they were wrapped in plastic wrap 🙄 gross.
Baked beans were the highlight of this meal, those were actually pretty good.

Incredible as always. Some of the best ribs you can find in St. Louis. They fall right off the bone. The brisket was delicious as well. Love all the sides.
*I recommend trying to go during lunch time. I went on three different occasions two hours before closing time and ribs were already sold out.*
Food was excellent!
