Passing through Ste. Gen., we stopped here for dinner and it was delicious!! Tortillas and chips were clearly fresh, salsa was delicious and had a bit of a kick. We both had chicken dishes and it was moist and flavorful. If we're ever back in the area, will definitely stop again.

El Potosino has excellent food and excellent staff. We drove from Belleville just to dine in. We were not disappointed and we will be back. Food, margaritas and staff are excellent.Kid-friendliness: My daughter loves the cheese quesadilla
If you like spicy and delicious food, I would highly recommend eating here. I myself am not a huge fan of a lot of spicy food, but everything was still very tasty. Some of the workers are hard to understand but they mean well and are all very kind. The food is affordable and you will be very pleased.

Mrs Brainiac and I have been to El Potosino a few times since it opened. I am not sure what was here before, but it must have been some kind of fast food joint that closed up. In any case, this is the type of place that is the first stepping stone to a full-blown, first-rate Mexican restaurant. It is a family operation and, judging from the low overhead and sparse furnishings, you are here for one reason: the food. This is the authentic place and it's going to grow as word gets out. It has become our favorite place for Mexican and we stop whenever we are in the area. The service is family friendly and the food is simply marvelous if you want a taste of real Mexico. I even had to think twice before posting such a glowing review but they deserve more business even if it makes it harder for us to get seated. It's only a matter of time before El Potosino needs to move into a bigger space...

Amazing service, quality food, real people. Way better than El San Felipe and much better price. The chips are fresh, the tortillas are cooked to perfection, and the ice cream is extremely good! Always so happy to support such a great small business! A must go if you're checking out the Ste Gen eatery!
