Everything is good and the quality consistent. The staff friendly. We live have a lake cabin about 25 miles away and make it here about once a month. The location is somewhat isolated, but very pleasant. I recommend reservations if planning to visit on a weekend or holiday.
We arrived in the late afternoon for wine tasting and dinner. We had dinner reservations for 5:00 p.m. With the large inside and outside seating areas, plus it was prior to the summer vacation period, reservations were not needed. Beautiful location on top of a hill out in the country. The scenery was amazing. The wine tasting was a disappointment. As we were finishing, the server told us about the fire that had destroyed all of their wines and port several months earlier and...
Outstanding food. The shrimp étouffe and pan seared chicken were excellent. The service was superb. But because the dining room was connected to the tasting bar the noise level was excessive. Slamming doors, loud voices, and shouting people detracted from an anniversary intimate dinner.
