Had to stay here for almost 2 months. Really happy with the service and rooms. The breakfast is not that great but other than that great place to stay. I’d definitely go back
Walkability: There is restaurants, grocery store and hardware within walking distance.

A small hotel with a family feel! Plenty of places to eat or have a drink! Old town Ste. Genevieve has plenty of restaurants and a fantastic winery Brix where you can get an amazing wine slushey! Highly recommend staying here!

The room was clean. Lots of noise was heard through the walls and door. No hot breakfast.
Had a great stay there ... had a mishap once but they lifted me for it with a free night's stay

Management was awful during the most recent stay.
Wish they had better surveillance in stairwells/on the side exits.
Breakfast is mainly to go foods like muffins or bagels, but they have warm options like waffles to toast or strudels to microwave! and cant forget about the 24 hour coffee and juice! loved that!
Housekeeping was mid but front desk always picked up their slack.
Rooms: Small and being renovated at the moment but great value for the price
Nearby activities: Nearby historical stops, shops and restaurants!
Walkability: Not GREAT for walking, but do-able if you are able-bodied and willing to cross a busy street at times (if you want to get to center-town)

Let’s start with this…. The place is being ran by teenagers. It took us calling 4-5 times before getting in touch with the manager to get a block reserved for our wedding. We were given little to no information about our room block or the “rules” that our guests had to requests a room at least two weeks before our wedding date to ensure they got the rate we were quoted and not charged extra. We requested a block for 25 rooms so was under the impression that 25 rooms were set aside for us. I had called months before the wedding to put my card on file in case a specific guest was going to be staying in the room block I wanted to pay for their room since they had came all the way from California. This guests did not end up staying at the hotel. They never checked in. Never checked out. When I called the hotel to discuss why my card was charged I was told to give my name and number and someone would call me back. Fast forward a couple more days. Still never got a call! Called in to talk about it again, talked to the manager who was very snarky. I was told they have a 24 hour cancellation policy that they hold strict to. Which doesn’t make much sense considering we reserved 25 rooms and not just the one. I was just trying to be polite and pay for a guest that was traveling such a long way. Manager made me feel stupid for questioning why I was being charged for a guest that never stayed at their hotel. No refund. Will be disputing charges. 0 stars.
We were in Ste. Genevieve for a wedding. Microtel was very kind and helpful in accommodating us with five rooms. We had asked that the fifth room be on the second floor with the rest of us, but that didn't happen. It was not a big deal because it was only used one night.
The check-in staff was very friendly and helpful.
The rooms were large, clean and very comfortable. Each queen bed had three pillows. I liked that the windows could open a small amount and let in cool, fresh air. I was able to turn off the A/C the first night. I really liked the window seat for relaxing and watching the sunrise.
The bathrooms are adequate size with plenty of towels and washcloths. Blow dryer is in a bag on the back of the door. My favorite feature of the bathroom is the vent; it is moisture sensitive and automatically starts if the room starts getting too steamy. I'm not a big fan of the lighted mirror; it's blinding, especially when trying to put on make-up. I would have liked another mirror, maybe full-length, in the bed area of the room.
The disappointing feature of the hotel and the only reason I couldn't give it five stars was the breakfast. It was very basic. Lots of carbs: muffins, bagels, refrigerated waffles that you heated in the toaster or microwave, cereal, packets of oatmeal. No real proteins except for 140 calorie yogurt containers. Fruit was a bowl of apples. Lots of drink options: coffee, several types of tea packets, cranberry juice, orange juice, grape and one other juice, milk. Condiment packets of butter, cream cheese, jelly and syrup were also available. The second day of our stay, most of the family went to Mimi's Cafe for omelettes, pancakes, bacon and eggs, and what they said was really good coffee.
We could easily stay here again, because it did have lots of pluses, including easy to find, plenty of parking, safe, clean, friendly staff and reasonably priced. We'll just know not to expect much for breakfast.

Rooms: When we got to our room , our bathroom floor had hair balls , the next morning the room had a smell, it was the fridgerator it was not working and our air conditioner tray was full of water so the carpet was all wet, they had maintenance come in he had to replace the fridge to a tiny one then he had to totally clean out the a.c. the stinch from the a.c. water was awful & the fridge smelled so bad they offered us a room spray, the beds were very uncomfortable, I would not recommend this place!! Our son & family stayed there as well and their shower had hair in it and all over the shower curtain, they had crumbs of food all over the carpet, so very disappointed.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. I got up early and enjoyed a nice breakfast while my husband got ready. He came down to the breakfast room with our luggage, but he didn't realize that I had taken one of my rings off and set it on the nightstand. I didn't think about until 2 days later. We called the hotel, and Sabrina (bless her heart) sent a maid up to check the room, and it was still there! She mailed out out right away and I received it in the mail today. When I called to offer to pay for the postage, she refused to take any money for me, straying that she believes there are still good people in this world. She's right, because she certainly is one of them. Kudos, Microtell! Your staff is amazing! It was a great experience all around!

Great experience! Check in was easy. Rooms were clean and spacious. I stayed in a basic 2 queen bed room. Also had a little "daybed" area near the window that was cute. TV, microwave and quite large mini-fridge included. The rooms were so clean, the beds comfy, and the place quiet and mellow. Great for families and they accept pets! Bathroom had a great lighted mirror, the usual mini-soaps and lots of towels, and an oddly nice bonus is they have little shelfs and hooks for towels instead of just throwing them over the shower like usual. On site they have 24hr coffee and juice in the "dining area" for the breakfast included. Breakfast has usual options; fruit, bagels, waffles, cereal, yogurt. Lots of dining options near by. We grabbed pizza for the night and brought it back. They also had laundry machines should you need them. Yes it is run by teenagers but what do you expect in a small town? They were all kind and professional when we stayed. I would 10/10 stay here again!
Rooms: Clean. Comfy. Spacious.
Safety: Had no problems, it was quiet and mellow.
Food and drinks: 24hr coffee and juice on site along with breakfast included!
Lots of dining nearby.
Noteworthy details: Lighted bathroom mirror.
Little shelfs and hooks in the bathroom.
Larger mini-fridge.
Little daybed area by the window.

Not a bad cheap hotel. Breakfast on the other hand is so so cheap and gross, like surely you can do better.
