We boated to Buffalo Winery this Labor Day weekend (2023) and it was a great experience. They have a truck that will pick you up at the dock provided to take you up to the winery. The owners and other staff on hand were such a pleasure to deal with. The meat/cheese/cracker/olive platter was a perfect touch to the wine tasting. And, if wine is not your preference they have a local craft beer selection. The view was awesome, the covered porch was super pleasant, and they are pet friendly. I definitely recommend!! Also, I do recommend that you call in advance to make sure they are open.
This is a great jewel of an escape. Great wine and loved the enthusiasm for wine and customer experience. This is a must see and I highly recommend it!
We found you by water but was closed due to Covid, we will be back!
There is no experience at this place. We tried to visit on a very warm Saturday, 3/6/20 to no avail. Goofle said this winery would open at 12 noon on Saturday.
I was headed to Cole Camp for a Saturday day trip. I remembered touring Buffalo Creek Winery years ago, having a great experience, when the original owner/wine maker owned the winery. He cared about his wine, customer service and his business.
I pulled up reviews for the current owners, finding very disappointing reviews.
Based on reviews, I checked their very outdated website and called.
Their website said they were open in October. It's March 2020.
I called the number listed on their website. A very lackluster man on the recording indicated they " might be open, or they might not be open." (In case you're totally unaware, it's customers who keep you in business)
I find this to be a disgusting attitude, and message from any person planning on making a success of any winery or any business. This opinion comes from a successful, retired business owner.
There are many more choices for consumers in your area, from wine makers who take pride in their wine, and who offer excellent customer service. The wine can be so so, but if you offer a destination and a venue, they will come...and spend money.
If you want to make it in the wine business, you must post updated information, show some enthusiasm and be open when you claim to be open.
I will not return to a winery, when the owner doesn't care about his product and venue.
Matt and Theresa are very welcoming, you can bring your dog and roam the beautiful lake front land. Theresa makes a great Sangria!
We were refused a tasting and told they were closed even though hours are 12-4 Sundays
You should visit the winery! We go by boat, dock and give the winery a call....they will drive down the hill to pick you up. You can do a wine tasting, get a meat and cheese tray...sit on the deck, and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. Always a treat to chat with Matt and Teresa!!
Great service !!! Freindly staff !!
The owners are really nice and the wine is really good. The setting is very beautiful and the land is very pretty. Just call to make sure they are open first.
Website and Facebook page all listed venue as being open on Friday. After travelling 50-some miles through the back country to get there, we were greeted with a roped-off entrance with a ratty sign saying they were closed due to a family issue (the sign was a bit damaged). Looked like the sign had been there days, if not weeks. This is what social media is for, to communicate last minute changes like this.

It's okay
Unfortunately I have no experience to rate. We tried to call this winery for more information before a trip to the Lake of the Ozarks. The message on the phone said they would be open on June 17th, today is the 23rd, so the recording was old. Google shows they are open Thurs Fri Sat Sun and that you can get there by boat. We drove up by boat from the 51 mm, found the winery dock but there was no way to get to the winery. It would have been nice if the web page would have had up to date CORRECT information or if the proprietors would have CORRECT information on their phone recording or if they would have even bothered to answer their phone or emails.
