The Tavern at Trails End

We were in town for the weekend and i had read great reviews - we happened to be close by and looked it up and it said it closed at 9pm i called and they basically told me if we didn’t get there by 8 it would be better to try the next night. We already had plans the next night but was able to get there at 8:20 and when we walked in the door there was no friendly hello just stared at us and said we are closed. It must be nice to be doing so well in the middle of the off season that they could turn away paying customers. It smelled wonderful and was a quaint atmosphere so we very disappointed they turned us away. Not sure we would ever return- it just left a bad taste in our mouth.

The food is delicious and large portion sizes. The wait time for food was very short. The atmosphere is very cozy and relaxing. The servers are friendly, helpful, and efficient. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Everything was amazing, but the Sunday chicken was absolutely to die for!

The 16 oz rib eye tasted odd. Didn’t taste like steak. Flavor and taste was not good I could only eat a third of it. Everyone at our table tried it and it every one didn’t like it and would not order it. Those eating the burger felt it was just ok. Only one who like their dinner had the salmon

A warm, friendly, DELICIOUS tavern, literally at the end of a trail. Exceptional service and beyond tasty food! There were no tables open, so we sat at the bar for our meal (which I think I would prefer to do again next time, everyone was so friendly and told us about the food and things to do in the area).
I got the Sunday chicken and my brother got the salmon. Both were fantastic. The chef stopped by the bar and greeted us before we left. When our gps told us to take a left off the main road down a dark gravel path, my brother and I looked at each other confused and nearly pivoted to another restaurant, thinking the address was off. Thank god we forged ahead and found this gem, literally at trails end. I can’t wait to return.

Perfect service and delicious food. We had the Korean sticky ribs, bread service, Sunday chicken, and the ribeye. The duck fat gravy on the Sunday chicken is to die for and the ribeye was cooked to perfection. The only thing I was not a fan of is, the road is hard to find since the street sign is not reflective and it's down a gravel road. You will wonder if you took a wrong turn but keep going and you'll find this quaint little Tavern.

The Tavern at Trail’s End always delivers. The NEW fall menu is no exception. Includes the ‘old’ favorites with the addition of some new soon to become favorites. We tried the Ahi Tuna app - sesame seed crusted, with wasabi and terryaki soy, sauces, fresh ginger and red onions PERFECTLY rare delicious. Braised Short Ribs require no knife, tender and mmmm tasty. Of course the staff is still the BEST at the LAKE. Our favorite - Beth makes our visit special and always makes the best recommendations, takes care of her friends like they are family. Hats are off to Sherri and John, we always look forward to our evenings at your house making fall and winter special on the West Side

Highly recommend 5 Star service!! Husband requested 3 Tomahawk Steaks a week and 1/2 before we had reservations! They had them ready and we had 3 very happy (and full)Men!! Excellent Food, Drinks and Service!

An amazing combination of wonderful food, service, and ambiance. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Mike was our server. He did not hover, but was aware how our meal progressed and made sure we had everything we needed.

We have spent many special occasions here, but last night the quality of food was horrible! Poor cuts of meat, undercooked chicken, and the presentation was nothing like it use to be. A positive is that the servers were very polite.

Have been here several times now and really enjoy it every time!!! From the great drinks to the delicious food, awesome bar tender, and servers, it never disappoints!!! We've introduced several friends now who've all enjoyed it equally as much as we do!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Excellent food (appetizers, main courses and perfect cocktails). Service and Server spot on. Attentive, made recommendations, timing of courses, etc. Nice cozy atmosphere on a cold night (like it was here in December). Chef visited with us for feedback. Sometimes hard to find (in the dark of night anyway) but Definitely worth the trip. Highly recommend.
