In my informal project to sample the best burgers in STL, yesterday the Duck In put itself easily into the top 2 with the Hog Wild...I hesitate to say it's a basic smash burger because that might imply ordinary, which it is not. It's two home made patties with some ground pork and bacon blended in, cheese, LTOP, and a nice bun. Damn close to perfect. Super tasty. Super friendly people. It's not fancy and not open past 5 but if you got mid-day burger needs you should...
Some of the friendliest employees here, nice folk. I just had the catfish po boy (only available on Fridays) and was very impressed. I've had po boys before but I'm pretty sure this is my first legit one, the bread they use makes a difference.
The gumbo was delicious as well. Very balanced in spices and salt. Compliments to the chefs!

Everything we had was good. With the Po' Boy, the bread is from New Orleans. The gumbo and corn masa(sweet corn bread) is on point. I go to school at Southern Miss at Long Beach, about an hour from New Orleans. This place reminds you of a hole in the wall grocery /tackle shop with a kitchen. It's legit.
