Best small German restaurant in Missouri. Open for breakfast 9 am and lunch/evening meal 6 pmService, presentation of food and taste is fantastic. They also have small shopping area of items from Germany from food, household and other. Owners are also on site. We drive 130 miles one way to eat there 4-5 times a year. That good, plus right off of Route 66 and by Roubideaux Spring.
Parking: Park in front of location or any available place. Restaurant is on North side of Square behind the historic court house snd near post office and historic stagecoach stop.

We ate there a few weeks ago and I’ve had better currywurst in the Deutsche Bahn food car. Attempted to give them a second chance yesterday for lunch but the cook snarled as we were walking in saying “All I want is a break”. Dude, your restaurant was EMPTY. Here’s a suggestion: put as much effort into your cooking as you do into smoking your cigs while “on break”. Never again.

100% the most authentic and honest Deustche Essen in the country. The wurst alone is worth killing for as is the small town atmosphere and Bavarian vibe. All in all a must stop for anyone traveling in missouri regardless of direction or time.

We ordered two NY style Ruben’s, and a side of home fries everything was microwaved, the cheese wasn’t even melted, the German potato salad was cold on the inside, and the home fries where just reheated fries potato’s that tasted like they where from the day before but the part that made me go “yup time to go” was when I bit into the still frozen bread, we quietly got up paid for our meal we had taken 3 bites out of and left.

Good food, great conversation. Ursula is a doll! For those that have been to Germany, it’s the same small town Gasthaus feeling. Nothing fancy. Just good quality stuff! Real brotchen and brats. Can’t wait to go back for the schnitzel!
