Excellent coffee shop in Webster Groves. Nice interior with lots of space for conversation or working. Friendly staff, too. I’m glad they’re open on Mondays!
I got a Sidecar, which was great.

This place is such a sweet find!
They've got everything - really unique cold-brews, delicious non-dairy cold foam, and unique espresso too.

When I'm in the area, I always make sure to stop by! I usually get a matcha or an americano but I love the drinks. Def want to try more too !
The atmosphere is really nice too, I'd love to chill and work here! Can't wait to come back :)

I’ve now been 10 times or so. Usually get a pour over. But I’ve had the occasional oat milk cappuccino.
My first trip was day one and have kept going since.
They’re processed have improved and seem to handle crowds well.
I’m a pour over guy and won’t review a coffee shop unless they do this, whether manual or with a machine. I prefer manual but understand the labor and time challenges. I was told that they can do it manual if the traffic flow isn’t crazy. Which I can respect.
They usually have a pretty good selection to choose from for PO and that is great.
I appreciate that the barista will talk with me about the PO technique and their love of coffee.
I’ve tried a cookie once and it was good.
I wish them well and am thankful they’re here.
Just went in on Labor Day, 2025 and they were slammed (1240pm) but as usual provided great service. Thank you for that team that was working today.

Lovely coffee shop! Perfect caffè macchiato served appropriately with a glass of sparkling water, flavorful cold brew, nice zucchini muffin and very friendly & knowledgeable staff! Quality of product and presentation reminded me of Vienna or Italy...

Had decent hopes for this place, unfortunately my iced decaf mocha tasted like it was burnt and my muffin ran me $6. So I spent $14 for a mid muffin and an undrinkable coffee. I think the decaf espresso wasn’t prepared properly. Vibes are great though! Great spot to study, but the bitter taste of my coffee left me feeling… also bitter.
Edit: Thanks for your response, but as a barista, it boggles my mind that you'd not disclose 4 SHOTS of espresso in ONE 16 oz latte? Of course it tasted bad, the industry standard is 2 shots! Love that you guys manually pull and dose your shots, because that is the bare minimum for like... most coffee shops.

This is a charming, modern coffee shop located in the heart of Webster Groves. We just moved back to the area and this shop was not around when we previously lived here. The baristas were super friendly as well. Unfortunately, the coffee was just okay, or I would rate the place higher. Perhaps I just tried the wrong latte? I’ll likely come back in the future to see if I can find something I like better.

Haven't been here yet, but I am glad to see more dining establishments built right onto very busy streets as they are often served by public transportation. This one is served by MetroBus route number 56. If the weather is nice you could easily walk to this place thanks to the Deer Creek trail. It would however take pretty close to an hour. This place is also served by Metro Call-a-Ride.
Their cold brew is tasty and will get you in gear to get stuff done. It’s a really modern designed coffee shop. I enjoyed my coffee and the staff were fast and nice. But out of principle I had to remove 1 star because they automatically have the tip screen set for a $1 tip. I think we’re all burnt out on tipping culture and to try to sneak a dollar tip on everyone’s order is annoying.

I will preface by saying that I did get a very good coffee here, so that's not the reason for the two stars. My issue is that when I got to the tip screen for an already $5 coffee, a tip of THREE dollars was auto-selected. That is SIXTY percent, and the minimum tip which you could select on the screen was, I believe, two dollars, which is FORTY percent. I have never seen something that egregious as far as tipping is concerned.
It is a really bad look to be requesting that much from your customers and, also, to be trying to trick the customers that glaze over the tip screen into tipping way more.

First time at 23 West! I can confidently say I’ll be coming back :)
This place has been on my list for a while. My friend put me on the STL Coffee Passport and once I saw this shop was on the list I thought I’d give it a try.
I was greeted by a barista who shares the same name as me! Honestly, in addition to the great seasonal flavors and customizations for the coffee, it made my day.
To drink, I’ve been sipping on the orange blossom latte with ube foam. This was a bit of a custom ask but as it’s seasonal, I wanted to take advantage of all the flavors! It came out beautifully and tastes like a sweet and savory summer. To eat, I’ve been enjoying the blueberry muffin. I think I detect a bit of lemon! It’s so good :)
Rating this place a 5/5 because the vibes are amazing, it’s remote worker friendly, the menu is massive, and the staff is so helpful and friendly. Definitely surpassed my expectations :)
