GOOD food, but not GREAT.

MeYou next door is better for sure.

Pad Thai was a bit too spicy here compared to MeYou’s sweeter flavor.

Only positive over MeYou is that Chiang Mai has a better and nicer atmosphere.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. I can’t believe that you can find authentic northern Thai food in St. Louis. It’s unthinkable. It’s family owned and it seems everything is cooked to order.

But as with any Asian restaurant in St. Louis (or the west in general), some dishes are better than others. Dishes that taste pretty similar to Thailand are gaeng hung lay, larb khua, and hoi tod (all pictured).

Hands down the best coconut curry in the St. Louis area. I've been trying to find a place that has great coconut curry for many months to no avail. In fact, I went as far as driving to Columbia Illinois. The Kaeng Daeng here was fire and honestly nothing else was even close
