Stopped by Los 3 Compadres this week while in town visiting family. It was a cold, rainy evening, so could have impacted the experience. The take-out business was brisk! The chips and salsa were decent, when asked, they delivered warm chips, and the salsa was flavorful, not spicy. We also ordered a side dish of queso, which was served piping hot, and was good. My family member ordered chicken enchiladas, and they were pretty good. I ordered the pescado veracruz and was very disappointed. I order pescado veracruz at almost every Mexican restaurant I try, and I make a really good rendition at home. The dish is usually a light tomato broth, with onions, garlic, olives and capers. The sauce on the dish here was mostly green peppers, which I don't particularly care for. IMHO, there are better Mexican places in the area. That said, as noted earlier, it was a cold, rainy night...

My wife and I love this place. Great food and drinks and I've finally went and visited during lunch. The pic shows their holiday decorations and the portion size for lunch fajitas. Just the right amount!

The food was amazing. I was expecting run of the mill and it was just so much better than I was expecting. We will be back. And soon.

Started off good with being seated quickly but the wait time is a bit dragged out and had to wait nearly 25 minutes for a single plate of dessert. Food was still good quality.

Today this place has 5 groups of people go in before my party of 2. As such, we were a bit neglected but I don't fault the place. It was situational. The food here is always good. Service is usually very good. I will go back.

First time visit on a Friday. One waiter for the main area, and he was hustling 110% of the time. The food was decent, but not worth the wait of a 2 hour meal with kids and tired grandparents. We will try a weekday and give it another shot. 3.5/5

My FAVORITE Mexican food place in St. Charles!! I consider myself a latin food aficionado and this is the most authentic Mexican I've found. Pedro is my favorite server, he does a great job!

Decent Mexican food, well above avg for St. Louis. Small patio facing a parking lot plus inside dining. Good kids menu.

I have been going here for years, we went last night and about a month ago, both times the food was barely ok, time to find somewhere else to get Mexican food

We tried this place tonight for the first time. It's appealing on the outside and the menu looked interesting. We walked in and the host stood and looked bothered. Not a word. We said 2. He threw menus on the table and walked away. 14 minutes later, the server, with the same level of friendliness, approached for the drink order. We ordered cheese dip with beans and hamburger. That came, with a half filled basket of chips. 24 minutes later, the server takes our order. That would be the last time we saw her at the table. 20 minutes later, someone drops the food. It's wrong. I walk the incorrect plate to the server and 2 others standing there. I have to say excuse me mam, and show her the plate. She yanks it out of my hand and tells a third person to fix it. No one says sorry. 10 minutes later the correct plate arrives. NO ONE ELSE EVER COMES TO THE TABLE. We eat some, but it's just not good and we wait for a check. I wait at the cashier counter for 5 more minutes before the first person we encountered arrives and then scrambled to find a check. I paid and left and I am just so disappointed in this restaurant. Please find a restaurant that cares about its product and guests. This is not it.

Pedro was great and very attentive. Excellent chips and salsa. Large menu. I wasn't super impressed with our meals, but I will admit that it's possible there are better menu items to try than what we had. The restaurant is loud which makes it hard to hear your friends when there are big groups dining without feeling like you're yelling.

Food and service are excellent! This is my family's go-to Mexican restaurant. They have a wide variety of margarita flavors too!

I’ve ate here dozens of times, ordered takeout many times as well. This time, carry out. Told 20 minutes to pick up. Perfect. Got there 20 minutes later. Waited in the register area for 30 minutes and left with no food. Kinda busy. Not that busy. Two female employees asked if I needed anything, I told them both I was there to pick up a carry out order, only to have neither of them ever return. Food is too good and it’s too close to home to not return, but this was a big fail.

Wife and I both have stomach issues this morning (extreme cramps, diarrhea) after having los 3 for dinner. Solid 6 hours and counting of bathroom visits and showers. Something was definitely off in the food. Clean your kitchen!

My husband and I tried Los 3 Compadres because el tio Pepe is closed this week. What a mistake. I ordered the three mini chimis. All three were dry. Ground beef, Chicken and pork. Not sure how that's possible. I told the server the red sauce on the beef chimi tasted odd. Asked if I could get queso like on the chicken. I was told for $3.50. Seriously. The meal wasn't awful. But we definitely will wait next time for El tio Pepe to be open.
