My family and I visited to celebrate my mother’s birthday and were looking forward to a nice dinner together. Unfortunately, the service we experienced throughout the evening did not reflect the level of hospitality we expected.

Our waitress, Maria, initially took our drink order. My mother ordered a mojito, and Maria returned shortly after apologizing that they didn’t have the ingredients, which was completely understandable. We then asked if there was a cocktail menu and were told there wasn’t one. When we asked if she could check with the bartender, she returned with both a cocktail and wine menu.

Shortly after, my sister asked for straws for our table of five. Maria brought two. When we politely asked for more, she rolled her eyes, asked “how many,” and when we replied that we just needed one for everyone, she dropped the straws on the table and walked away.

When taking our appetizer order (mozzarella sticks) and my mother’s updated drink order, she again walked away without acknowledging that other people at the table were trying to order drinks. We had to call after her to add another drink.

When my mother attempted to order fish, Maria stated that they did not have fish available. However, another employee walking by later confirmed that there was a $12 Friday fish special.

During our meal ordering, my sister ordered a buffalo wrap. When Maria asked if she wanted it grilled or crispy and my sister replied crispy, Maria responded with “we’ll see.” The wrap ultimately arrived grilled.

Another family member ordered loaded tots and asked if white queso could be substituted. Maria insisted they did not have white cheese and became argumentative, even though the menu lists white cheddar, pepper jack, and pepper jack queso. We eventually asked to simply substitute the pepper jack queso so the conversation could move on.

When it was time for my mother to order, Maria started to walk away. My mother got her attention and ordered the fish sandwich.Maria became argumentative about not having fish and my mother reassured her she confirmed it was available. Maria took the order and asked if we needed anything else. Two people asked for ranch, and she immediately informed us that extra ranch was $0.50. That was understandable, though we were simply requesting the standard sauces that come with the meals.

I want to be clear that the food itself looked and tasted great, and the kitchen did a wonderful job.

However, when the bill arrived, we were charged four times for extra sauce. I politely explained that the fish special listed on the website includes tartar sauce and that we had only received two ranch cups but were charged double. Maria responded that as of March 1st all sauces are $0.50 regardless of the meal.

At that point, I simply paid the bill.

We understand that everyone can have difficult evenings, and we made a point to remain patient and respectful throughout the meal. However, the repeated eye-rolling, dismissive responses, argumentative tone, and walking away mid-order made our table feel like an inconvenience rather than guests celebrating a special occasion.

The food was excellent, which is why it was disappointing that the service did not reflect the same level of quality. I hope management is aware of these concerns so future guests can have the positive experience the restaurant’s food deserves.

Food is great. Service is hit or miss. Been there a few times now. Atmosphere is bland and empty. Needs a theme or some personality. Has potential. Worth a shot.

Do not sleep on this place! Wife and I sat at the bar. Ordered 3 apps, mozz sticks, rangoons, and southwest eggrolls. All 3 apps were amazing and tasted very freshly made. We also ordered smash burgers. I tried the Goober Smash with mac n cheese and she had the Classic Smash with loaded tots. All was incredible, I can't stress enough how much you can tell that the food is made fresh to order! Give this place a try as you will not be disappointed. We will be back very soon. Thank you all for such amazing food and superb service!!

Great new restaurant in St Charles Co! Friendly service and delicious food/drink made from scratch. Try one of of their MANY smash burger options….amazing! Screw the chain restaurants (ex Applebees) and go support a locally owned restaurant!

Absolutely delicious! The food was amazing and the staff were delightful! Our waitress was friendly and the host/bartender was the same, and very helpful!! We ordered fried pickles for our appetizer. Our main courses were the Comeback Smash Burger with loaded tots, and the Shrimp Wrap with regular tots. The food was so fresh and flavorful! We will definitely be returning and bringing more people with us! Highly recommend!!

The food definitely exceeded expectations for a corner bar and grill. I had the BBQ burger and would eat it again without hesitation. The rots were crispy and delicious. I also had the BBQ wantons and they were equally tasty with the sweet chili dip. The draft beer selection was decent but not extensive. Our waitress AJ was on her game and helpful with the menu.

Last night was my 4th time coming to Tap and Table. You'd be right to assume I had great experiences before. Last night was much different.

There was a decent crowd. I sat at the bar, which was not crowded. Turns out I was sitting next to the owner. I told him I’d been a happy repeat customer. Things went downhill from there. First, they were out of the beer I had on my last visit.

Disappointing, but not a showstopper. Next up, I was told that there would be no candied pepper bacon on the Comeback Smash burger. They were apparently out of bacon. More disappointing, since that makes that burger really special. Next, they were also out of the side dish I had ordered.
Since I was by the owner, we talked about the fact that they were having a very ‘off’ night. To his credit, he tried to scare up some bacon from a back corner of the kitchen. I’m guessing that effort was why it took a LONG TIME for my food to arrive. When it did, the burger was lukewarm at best, the meat was dried out, and the bacon was fried to an unpleasant rocky crisp and I ended up removing most of it. I appreciated the attempt, but it was a major swing and a miss.

When the check came there was no accommodation made to address what the owner knew for a fact, was a very sub-par experience. At a MINUMUM, he could have comped me a beer. Apparently, that thought had not crossed his mind.

I expressed that to him and he said/did nothing. I’d be willing to overlook them having bad night (food shortage, probably not the A-Team in the kitchen). But for a restaurant OWNER to show such little regard – that’s a hard one to get past.

3.5 rating, food good, atmosphere good, service good. It was alittle chilly in the main dinning area and food delivery was slow. But they did take 20% off bill which was nice! Id say, worth a try!!

It was a wierd mix. The bar staff was very slow as was the food, but the server was amazing. And the food was good. So rating is difficult

First visit. Comeback burger and Smash wrap were delicious. All toppings were fresh. Candied bacon.. good stuff! All the staff were exceptional. Side of Mac was tasty. Side of fries had an unexpected seasoning on them. Not something I would of asked for. Also not cooked to my liking. They were soft and mushy...need to crisp them up with a tender inside for my taste. The layout is pretty much the same as the previous place. Needs some acoustic noise panels in the rafters, too much crowd noise. We would certainly go back.
