Too frustrating to write everything. Save your time, money and patience. Server was too high to do her job, kept forgetting things even though writing them down. Don't go here. The food is bland garbage and it's not cheap either. Los Portales or Chimi's are much better options in the area. We aren't hard to please. Worst service in our 12 years of marriage, and we've had some doozies.

I dined alone. The food and service of my waitress was excellent. However, the owner came to greet every table, glanced in my direction and kept moving. She did not greet me, though she rounded the area two or three times. What a shame that she did not see me as worthy of her attention though I was a paying customer.

I was in Wright City , Missouri for 3 months training new staff and helping set up a new warehouse. I'm from California and was craving authentic Mexican food. Ruiz Castillo is 100% Authentic.

I visit this restaurant at least once a week. The food is so good and priced reasonably. Favorite restaurant!

My family and I had dinner here on a Friday night. The place was busy, but we were able to get a table. Service was good. Our waitress was very nice. She took our plates away when we were finished, and always made sure we has plenty to drink. Everyone in my party really liked the chips that came with the salsa before had. The salsa was a bland. I had the nacho deluxe with beef, which was good. Everyone else in my party also enjoyed their food. We all got dessert. Three of us got the fried ice cream. The fried ice cream party was delicious. The puff pastry that it was put on wasn't good. It was very doughy. It needed to be baked longer. The other person in my party got the sopapilla. she didn't like it at all. It was also on a puff pastry that was baked long enough and was very doughy. It ruined the who dessert.

Fantastic! I have eaten here four times in the last couple months. Every time it has been a terrific experience. My wife is not a big fan of Mexican fare, but I am. She allows me to treat myself and I have lately chosen Ruiz-Castillo as my preferred location. What is nice is that my wife can enjoy fried shrimp and I can have my fill of Mexican cuisine. My choice is usually the Pepitos and the Totopos. I have looked for fried tacos in other mexican restaurant to no avail. The Pepitos have filled that need very well. The Totopos have added to my enjoyment. As to the staff, each and every one has been wonderful; friendly, helpful and seem eager to please. I live in the St Peters/O'fallon area, so the drive is one minor drawback but only takes about 20 minutes as it is almost all Interstate, The drive is more than adequately worth the great dining experience. Thank You, Ruiz-Castillo, you have brightened my life!

Absolutely fabulous food and great price. We go there exclusively when we want home cooked Mexican. Family owned and operated for far too many years to count

The menu is fairly similar to most Mexican restaurants, but the quality of the ingredients and the preparation skill are special. Their in-house made tamales are the best I've had in my life. The carnitas are also excellent. Even the chips and salsa are a cut above - I think they also make them in house. And the service is friendly and efficient. My #1 go-to for Mexican food.

It was a Sunday afternoon and the service was good along with the food. Had not been there in quite awhile and was impressed. The salsa was very fresh and our server gave us a pint to take home! Can't wait to go back again.

Homemade empanadas might have been delicious if they were cooked properly. Outside was hot and over fried, inside was cold, barely thawed temperature. ?Salsa is very sweet.Guacamole poblano is filled with so much cilantro you can barely taste the avocado. Tortillas taste store-bought. And the rest of the food is solidly mediocre.

Finally went to this restaurant after seeing it from the highway many times. As a Mexican-American from Texas, I enjoy trying Mexican restaurants in Missouri. In one word, I was underwhelmed. The food was not bad, it just wasn't that good. I'll be generous and say it was average. Perhaps they are having staffing issues because the service was below average. To be fair, our server was the hostess, the server and she bussed tables. One thing though was horrible. My wife ordered a Margarita and it had very little alcohol. Very little. I wanted to send the drink back, but my wife didn't want to cause waves. Bottom line, we will probably never return. I always noticed that this restaurant was busy on weekends. I see now that the reason for that is because there must be few options in the area. I was not impressed.

The food is awesome and the service is very good. The servers are willing to make sure that your patronage is worth your time. The margaritas are very good but a little pricey. We will continue to eat there.

Salsa was the worst I've ever had. Tasted like it had ketchup in it. Fajitas were good. Service was bad. Waiter never came back to table to ask if we wanted refills on drinks. Only to give us our bill. Probably won't return

If they're new cook has started... I'm not too sure. Truly wasnt impressed this evening at all. In fact, it may be a while before I return. I cook homemade Mexican food from scratch for my family... tonight was lacking flavor, the flavor that's been there for years.... just not sure. And the margaritas tasted flat...I was very disappointed. ?
