Well......due to covid, the buffet is not a buffet, its exactly like dining on a cruise ship. You order from a very selective menu 2 or 3 options for each course,...salad/appetizer, entree choice, desert choice....and you can order as many times or mix and match. Eat as much as you like. Its plated and served to your table. Not a buffet (right now)
They have everything you could possibly dream of eating. The crabs are delicious, the other food was amazing too. The kids loved it.
Food is generally good. Was exceptionally disappointed today when my server during lunch openly sneezed ? on me! ? She said “sorry” but made no attempt to cover her sneeze. Unfortunately it ruined the rest of my day!! ?
It wasn't what I thought. It could have been better choices and variety of more meats and vegetables the lemonade taste like sprite and we only ate one plate of food
not good for people who can not eat spicy food....but had a good selection of food....and deserts are hurt me good....
We have been visiting the buffet for the last 14 or so years. Always a great selection to chose from and great taste.
It's amazing. Honestly don't tell my momma but the bread pudding is the best I've ever had!
Food seemed overly dry from sitting under hot lights. Desserts were good
At 2PM mostly breakfast items. Sliders hard, cold. Tamales dry, no sauce a available, stale fried wontons ruined egg drop soup. Item bins no filled, and to top off this bad buffet, no coffee cups available. 3rd x same bad buffet.
Monday is senior day and it's half price for my husband and myself it was just under $18 for the lunch buffet which includes you drink and all you can eat with your dessert.

The food is great, service is outstanding, and the overall experience is good. There is a variety of food for dinner - seafood, southern cuisine, Asian fare, Italian dishes - including on site prepared pasta dishes, and super yummy desserts. Brunch is also a great option for earlier in the day with hand made crepes, French toast, and omelets - you can watch the professionals make them! The service staff is great - professional, talented, gracious, and some are super funny and engaging. The Imperial Palace is an excellent getaway experience and Back Bay Buffet (IP sits on the body of water named Back Bay) is in line with their outstanding service standard. Always look forward to my visits here - does not disappoint!
We had our first visit to this buffet on Christmas day. While the variety and presentation of food was decent, the food was not good at all. About all we tasted was missing seasoning. The salmon was kind of burn, the ribs were hard, the prime rib was chewy, and the shrimps a little bit overcooked. Desserts were missing some sugar and their chocolate fondue fountain was non functional. Their salad was about the only thing that could be eaten. There are plenty of other decent places in the area. Don't waste your money, time, and appetite here.
Lots of Food, think I counted 6 different food areas and then the Dessert bar.
The customer service was great the food was delicious it should be six stars
it is a nice family atmosphere. Lot of foods to be selected. Mexican, Chinese, Vietnamese, American and southern cooking. A huge selection of desserts from cookies to ice scream etc...The prime rib was tender however it does not have any flavor it tasted bland.
