Good prices for the food you get. If you have an itch for mexican food, this place is a good place to scratch the itch. It’s not 100% authentic like you would get in Mexico or hole in the wall places in Texas but it is better than the other places we’ve tried in Mississippi. They even have specials for every weekday that are very good. Will definitely be returning when I have an itch.

I grew up in Texas eating authentic TexMex, lived in Cali for a few years now, I went to Biloxi for some school training last year for 3 months, and was also there in 2022 for a couple months. This place has the best birria tacos I’ve ever had, and I’d say I’ve tried quite a lot throughout Texas and Cali.

The food is great the prices are very reasonable especially for lunch every once in a while they may ask you if you want a refill most of the time you're going to have to ask there's usually three girls who are the servers and they run ragged

I didn’t get any pictures unfortunately but this is a small “hole in the wall” gem! It’s a few blocks off the beaten coastal path and really good! The food was super fresh and the drinks were cold! $4 for a beer. $10.00 for the special that day which was chicken, beef, or shrimp, or a mix. These were not the typical little bitty corn tortilla tacos either. My son got a cheese burger that was very obviously homemade and fresh and I had a bite and it was delicious. My wife had the chicken quesadillas and she said they were fantastic. My daughter had what all 10 year olds eat, chicken nuggets and French fries lol. Highly recommend this place. Its prices are set for locals and not the tourist prices that places along the coast jack their food too.

The drive thru situation is a disaster. Not sure why they thought this parking lot was drive thru friendly but it’s a disaster waiting to happen . They need parking spaces that are labeled for their drive thru orders OR to give better directions or something . The food is great but don’t use the drive thru

Tacos was bad, it look like somebody had dip my tacos in a shower they were dripping wet it was like the service didn't care and the salsa was super watery will not be back people brag about this place all the time because there's a line he went there on Taco Tuesday and the taco had no seasoning it looked like they didn't want to be there and the tacos were awful I took two bites and threw them in the trash

El Portillo is a place I had passed hundreds of times, so finally I decided to stop and give it a try!
The people who work there are so gracious and kind! They gave me plenty of time to look at their incredible menu, and I eventually decided to get their daily special, chicken fajitas!
They didn’t come out sizzling, but that’s absolutely okay! I would’ve liked the chicken to have been a little more tender and juicy, but the portion for a daily special was really quite generous! Also the peppers and onions beneath the chicken were good but a bit salty for me!
Now having said that, the plate with the rice beans, guacamole, and pico was truly one of the best I’ve seen, and their salsa and guacamole were wonderful!
They also had the most incredible sweet / unsweet tea!
I’ll definitely be back for the chimichanga!
