A delicious shrimp po boy-perfectly toasted bread, chilled lettuce and intentionally placed tomatoes piled high with fried shrimp! Hit the spot and very satisfying! Our server was super attentive and friendly! Neat “old gas station” vibe. Recommend for a great AFFORDABLE meal!

An old converted service station. The Fillin' Station offers daily lunch specials and a wide variety of local favorites, from boiled seafood to po boys. Great service from friendly staff. Full bar and indoor and outdoor dining.

We were staying just down the road at Hard Rock Casino, within walking distance. It was getting later and we wanted some food, but aside from the casinos, most of the local food places close for the night by 9 PM. We found this place on Google and decided to try it as it was still open and not much else open other than fast food. Neat place! Nothing fancy. Better than fast food. It’s small and literally an old school gas station with a bar and small seating area. A few tables outdoors where you can sit on the patio . I think there might’ve even been a pool table, but I don’t remember if I’m remembering that correct? Small menu with typical bar and Southern/Cajun comfort food type eats. Not very expensive and a good selection of draft beer and some local craft brews. I had the pot roast and a couple local craft brews. I can’t remember what my girlfriend had? Some kind of entrée and a couple mixed drinks We were both satisfied.. The bartender was really friendly and sociable. I think he might’ve been the owner? We come from New England where people generally keep to themselves and aren’t very outwardly,l friendly and sociable with people they don’t know. Kind of cold and icy type people. At least that’s how they come across if you’re not used to it . It’s always refreshing to come down south where people actually are outwardly friendly and talk to you and don’t act like you have some kind of sinister intention if you random small talk. Never take so long before they actually come up to you and just start chatting about whatever.. While we were sitting there, the guys next to us were talking to us both like we had known them our whole lives. st I’m not sure, but it might be a gay bar? Or a hangout? It was actually kind of funny because we had been in there a while and then we started noticing rainbow and LGBT references, including the bartenders t-shirt, stickers behind bar and on the wall, and there were only men in there. One moving around kind of overly feminine postered. At one point I was talking with one of them about fishing and noticed the other three behind him were all lined up along the bargiving me a look. The one I was talking to couldn’t get over my voice and kept telling me how he loved my deep voice. “It was deep deeper than his” Then we were sitting there eating and the three guys were having conversation behind us with the bartender. All of a sudden while the bartender is preparing himself a draft beer road soda to go because it’s almost closed time, did Mississippi is the last state in the country. You can legally drink a beer while driving , I hear one of the guys tell everybody that he had to get going and make his way home. The bartender, then made some kind of remark along the lines of, “ Well, good seeing you! You came in and angry gay and you’re leaving a drunk happy gay. See! Tonight wasn’t all bad” It was all actually kind of funny as we were sitting there, observing and listening to everything while eating dinner. We had a good meal and some good conversation with the guys next to us and the bartender. Cool place!

Got the crawfish nachos and seafood gumbo, my boyfriend helped eat the nachos and got a crawfish poboy with the fries. This place is one of the best hole in a wall I guess you can call it that you can go to and get food.

Their fries are great. I had the grilled fish poboy..great flavor, but the fish prices barely cover the bread. My husband had the roast beef poboy. The beef was tender, but they put a lot of juice on it, so it eats very messy, but he said it was okay.

Jerry is a great bartender!

He took excellent care of us and made sure that our drinks were always full and that our food was hot and tasty.

We were visiting from Kansas City and appreciated that he had the game on the TV on Sunday night.

The regulars here were a lot of fun and we enjoyed our time!
